Right/Wrong-Light/Darkness-Sweet/Bitter.. Only in America?

Protect Sea Turtles: Sea Turtles are an endangered species. They lay their eggs along the Beaches of South Walton. Avoid the use of flashlights near nests in the evening, do not leave beach chairs and other items on the beach overnight (they block the turtles’ path), and keep your distance if you see turtles or eggs. Sea turtles are protected by federal and state law and substantial fines and federal imprisonment may result from killing, harming, or even interfering with a sea turtle

The above blurb is included in the Compass Resorts, Destin Condo Rentals in Destin Florida. The information is included in their Rental and Vacation Information package that goes out to clientele vacationing on any of their properties.

Living along the gulf coast of Alabama and Florida the WARNING below is not uncommon as the gulf coast is prime nesting ground for a number of different species of sea turtles.

The U.S Endangered Species Act of 1973 stated “No person may take, harass, harm, pursue, hurt, shoot, wound, kill, trap, or attempt to engage in any such conduct., or capture any marine turtle, turtle nest, and/or eggs.

Any person who knowingly violates any provision of this act may be assesses a civil penalty up to $25,000 or a criminal penalty up to $50,000 and up to one year imprisonment.”

So if visiting the gulf coast for vacation and you find wooden or PVC stakes roped off with the below hanging sign, you best stay away, or it could pose real big problems that can land you not only with a hefty fine, but some slammer time.

Fine Print under Florida Law Chapter 370

“No persons may take, possess, disturb, mutilate, destroy, cause to be destroyed, sell, offer for sale, transfer, molest, or harass any marine turtle nest or eggs at any time. Upon conviction a person may be imprisoned for a period up to 60 day or fined up to $500, or both, plus additional penalty of $100 for each sea turtle egg destroyed or taken.”

The U.S Endangered Species Act of 1973 was not the only law that had a 1973 date of origin. ROE vs WADE was also birthed the same year which legalized the murder of unborn children while still in their mother’s womb.

Our judicial system some how reasoned this distinction. It is permissible to destroy the life of an unborn child while still in the protection of the womb, but makes it a crime to fool with the eggs of a sea turtle. I could labor the ignorance of this distinction for hours, but I don’t really think it is necessary, because the justification is inexplicable. If for some reason you can justify it, please feel free to email me at brother.malachi@gmail.com and help me understand. It seems to me that Isaiah has a word for us today.

Isaiah 5:20 & 21… “Woe unto them that call evil good, and good evil; that put darkness for light, and light for darkness; that put bitter for sweet and sweet for bitter. Woe unto them that are wise in their own eyes, and prudent in their own sight!”

Pray God’s mercy upon America…..
