‘diabolical opposition… religion + spirit of hate’

As a Christian, when I see the brutal persecution against my brothers and sisters simply because of their profession of faith rest in Jesus Christ, it conjures up a bitter spirit within me. This spirit has its roots in anger, but then I remember the words that my precious Lord spoke to His disciples….

“If the world hate you, ye know that it hated me before [it hated] you. If ye were of the world, the world would love his own: but because ye are not of the world, but I have chosen you out of the world, therefore the world hateth you. But all these things will they do unto you for my name’s sake, because they know not him that sent me. These things have I spoken unto you, that ye should not be offended. They shall put you out of the synagogues: yea, the time cometh, that whosoever killeth you will think that he doeth God service. And these things will they do unto you, because they have not known the Father, nor me.”

Now this ‘diabolical opposition’ to Christianity is not new. From the time Jesus began his earthly ministry proclaiming the Kingdom of God, he was met with vehement opposition, even from the religious sort.

Why such opposition against a man that did these notable miracles, healing the sick, making the lame to walk, the blind to see, the deaf to hear, even the dead brought back to life…. yet they took up stones to kill him. Why?

“For a good work, we stone the not; but for blasphemy; and because that thou being a man makest thyself God.”

Now if Jesus was God, then there is no blasphemy. If there is no blasphemy, then the opposition is foolishness, “for if it be of God, ye cannot overthrow it; lest happily ye be found even to fight against God”, and only a fool would consider fighting against God.

Now in the above admonition given by the Lord to his disciples, he warned of the ‘hatred of the world’ against him and his disciples, not those associated with religion, but I have found that religion is often the tool used of Satan in his attempts to thwart God’s work….

“I know that ye are Abraham’s seed; but ye seek to kill me, because my word hath no place in you. I speak that which I have seen with my Father: and ye do that which ye have seen with your father. They answered and said unto him, Abraham is our father. Jesus saith unto them, If ye were Abraham’s children, ye would do the works of Abraham. But now ye seek to kill me, a man that hath told you the truth, which I have heard of God: this did not Abraham. Ye do the deeds of your father. Then said they to him, We be not born of fornication; we have one Father, even God. Jesus said unto them, If God were your Father, ye would love me: for I proceeded forth and came from God; neither came I of myself, but he sent me. Why do ye not understand my speech? [even] because ye cannot hear my word. Ye are of [your] father the devil, and the lusts of your father ye will do. He was a murderer from the beginning, and abode not in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaketh a lie, he speaketh of his own: for he is a liar, and the father of it.” John 8:37-44

The persecution against Christ and his body of followers still continues today……..

Muslims Want Christian Doctor Hanged Publicly for ‘Blasphemy’ in Pakistan..Persecution.org

For thousands of years we have seen the struggle of the seed that was brought forth of Egyptian (Hagar) and the seed bought forth of the promise through Sarah and have witnessed this vehement hatred of these two peoples against each other. Now we are seeing a merger of of the two yet one spirit as it opposes the gospel.

From the above two articles we can see that Christ was right. His church is still being persecuted by the seed of Abraham? No by Satan… he is just using the seed of Abraham to bring about this diabolical opposition.

I guess the old adage is true…”we see things not as they are but as we are”.

‘blogging for the lost’

Life is full of decisions…. where do I go to school after graduation? do I take this new job? to I buy this or that? have I set aside enough for my retirement? if you died today, what would happen to your family’s future? All of this are important decisions and none more important than preparations for ones future.

A better question, and that of eternal consequences, “if you died today, what would happen to your soul”?

For some this may seem like a trivial question or one that does not require immediate attention, but from the words of James the apostle….

“Go to now, ye that say, To day or to morrow we will go into such a city, and continue there a year, and buy and sell, and get gain: Whereas ye know not what shall be on the morrow. For what is your life? It is even a vapour, that appeareth for a little time, and then vanisheth away.” James 4:13-14

Being raised in ‘religion’ and have some elementary understanding of the Bible, one of the most eye open truths that I can remember coming through an intimate study of Gods word was the truth about the soul of man.

Man is a spiritual being and created in the image of God….

“And the very God of peace sanctify you wholly; and I pray God your whole spirit and soul and body be preserved blameless unto the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ.” 1 Thessalonians 5:23

So really what does all of this mean? Well when one dies, he does not really die. Only his body ceases to give forth life. Once the individual gives up the spirit, the breath stops, the beat of the heart discontinues, and the organs of the body begin to shut down, with this is the decay of the body begins. It returns to what it was taken from.

“In the sweat of thy face shalt thou eat bread, till thou return unto the ground; for out of it wast thou taken: for dust thou [art], and unto dust shalt thou return.” Genesis 3:19

But this is not true with the soul. It never dies. Back to my child hood misconception, I thought only those who believed the word of God and accepted God’s salvation in Jesus Christ would live forever in heave with him. But careful study of the scripture taught me that every soul will live for eternity. Consider the rich man and Lazarus….

There was a certain rich man, which was clothed in purple and fine linen, and fared sumptuously every day: And there was a certain beggar named Lazarus, which was laid at his gate, full of sores, And desiring to be fed with the crumbs which fell from the rich man’s table: moreover the dogs came and licked his sores. And it came to pass, that the beggar died, and was carried by the angels into Abraham’s bosom: the rich man also died, and was buried; And in hell he lift up his eyes, being in torments, and seeth Abraham afar off, and Lazarus in his bosom. And he cried and said, Father Abraham, have mercy on me, and send Lazarus, that he may dip the tip of his finger in water, and cool my tongue; for I am tormented in this flame. But Abraham said, Son, remember that thou in thy lifetime receivedst thy good things, and likewise Lazarus evil things: but now he is comforted, and thou art tormented. And beside all this, between us and you there is a great gulf fixed: so that they which would pass from hence to you cannot; neither can they pass to us, that [would come] from thence. Then he said, I pray thee therefore, father, that thou wouldest send him to my father’s house: For I have five brethren; that he may testify unto them, lest they also come into this place of torment. Abraham saith unto him, They have Moses and the prophets; let them hear them. And he said, Nay, father Abraham: but if one went unto them from the dead, they will repent. And he said unto him, If they hear not Moses and the prophets, neither will they be persuaded, though one rose from the dead. Luke 16:19-31

Now the purpose of the story that Christ gave us about these two men tells us that death is NOT the end. It is the beginning of an eternal abode.

The story speaks only to the eternal existence of the soul not what determines the place of its abode. For that is found only in trusting what the word of God says about our sin and His salvation!

As Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, even so must the son of man be lifted up.

John 3:14

‘the value of human life’

Woe unto them that call evil good, and good evil; that put darkness for light, and light for darkness; that put bitter for sweet, and sweet for bitter! Isaiah 5:20

I ran across the article below posted on The Christian Telegraph, the contents is unimaginable in that we live in a day in which we give more rights to turtles, apes, dogs, etc… than unborn human beings….

“This is a historic day in the struggle for animal rights and in defense of our evolutionary comrades, which will doubtless go down in the history of humanity,” said Pedro Pozas, Spanish director of the Great Apes Project (GAP). “We have no knowledge of great apes being used in experiments in Spain, but there is currently no law preventing that from happening.” comments taken from the ChristianTelegraph article.

Hear the word of God… for it is what we shall be judged by.

And thou shalt not let any of thy seed pass through the fire to Molech, neither shalt thou profane the name of thy God: I am the LORD. Leviticus 18:21

How blind can a society be to blatant sin against a right and holy God?

“If I shut up heaven that there be no rain, or if I command the locusts to devour the land, or if I send pestilence among my people; If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.” 2 Chronicles 7:13-14

‘there is no remedy for this illness’

Congress Draws Criticism Over First Pro-Gay Caucus-The Christian Post

For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who hold the truth in unrighteousness; Because that which may be known of God is manifest in them; for God hath shewed [it] unto them. For the invisible things of him from the creation of the world are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, [even] his eternal power and Godhead; so that they are without excuse: Because that, when they knew God, they glorified [him] not as God, neither were thankful; but became vain in their imaginations, and their foolish heart was darkened. Professing themselves to be wise, they became fools, And changed the glory of the uncorruptible God into an image made like to corruptible man, and to birds, and fourfooted beasts, and creeping things. Wherefore God also gave them up to uncleanness through the lusts of their own hearts, to dishonour their own bodies between themselves: Who changed the truth of God into a lie, and worshipped and served the creature more than the Creator, who is blessed for ever. Amen. For this cause God gave them up unto vile affections: for even their women did change the natural use into that which is against nature: And likewise also the men, leaving the natural use of the woman, burned in their lust one toward another; men with men working that which is unseemly, and receiving in themselves that recompence of their error which was meet. And even as they did not like to retain God in [their] knowledge, God gave them over to a reprobate mind, to do those things which are not convenient; Being filled with all unrighteousness, fornication, wickedness, covetousness, maliciousness; full of envy, murder, debate, deceit, malignity; whisperers, Backbiters, haters of God, despiteful, proud, boasters, inventors of evil things, disobedient to parents, Without understanding, covenantbreakers, without natural affection, implacable, unmerciful: Who knowing the judgment of God, that they which commit such things are worthy of death, not only do the same, but have pleasure in them that do them. Romans 1: 18-32

In 760 BC God sent the prophet Jonah to the great city of Nineveh. The purpose for sending him was to proclaim the pending judgement upon Nineveh because of their wickedness, unless they would repent of their grievous sin.

The entire city repented in sack cloth and ashes and God spared this generation of the judgment proclaimed.

Nahum was sent some 148 years later to pronounce the same judgement upon the great city, but this time there was no opportunity for repentance. In the last few verses of the book of Nahum it says…

“Thy shepherds slumber, O king of Assyria: thy nobles shall dwell in the dust: thy people is scattered upon the mountains, and no man gathereth them. There is no healing of thy bruise; thy wound is grievous: all that hear the bruit of thee shall clap the hands over thee: for upon whom hath not thy wickedness passed continually?”

From the example of Nineveh, we can see a couple of things…

  • the first is that God will pity and forgive a wicked nation that turns to him in repentance.
  • the second this is that it is possible for a nation to move so far into sin that there “is no healing of thy bruise”, in other words the sin is so grievous and vile that the only remedy for this nation is God’s judgement.

When a nation finds itself in this condition of spiritual decency, they are in danger of hearing the message that God sent forth from the mouth of his prophet…..

“Now is the end come upon thee, and I will send mine anger upon thee, and will judge thee according to thy ways, and will recompense upon thee all thine abominations.” Ezekiel 7:3

God gives us a in depth picture of the how broad this gross sin and wickedness did span.

And the word of the LORD came unto me, saying,  Son of man, say unto her, Thou [art] the land that is not cleansed, nor rained upon in the day of indignation. [There is] a conspiracy of her prophets in the midst thereof, like a roaring lion ravening the prey; they have devoured souls; they have taken the treasure and precious things; they have made her many widows in the midst thereof. Her priests have violated my law, and have profaned mine holy things: they have put no difference between the holy and profane, neither have they shewed [difference] between the unclean and the clean, and have hid their eyes from my sabbaths, and I am profaned among them. Her princes in the midst thereof [are] like wolves ravening the prey, to shed blood, [and] to destroy souls, to get dishonest gain. And her prophets have daubed them with untempered [morter], seeing vanity, and divining lies unto them, saying, Thus saith the Lord GOD, when the LORD hath not spoken. The people of the land have used oppression, and exercised robbery, and have vexed the poor and needy: yea, they have oppressed the stranger wrongfully. And I sought for a man among them, that should make up the hedge, and stand in the gap before me for the land, that I should not destroy it: but I found none. Therefore have I poured out mine indignation upon them; I have consumed them with the fire of my wrath: their own way have I recompensed upon their heads, saith the Lord GOD. Ezekiel 22:23-31

  • prophets & priest- there was no spiritual direction. The prophets and the priest should have been light (spiritual compass) but there was none so darkness prevailed.
  • princes- those in a position of leadership were ravening the people and the land for dishonest gain. Sounds like our government today in America. Republican and Democrat alike.
  • people- the people were left to their on devise and wicked way. Sin abounded on every front.

My friend, how can we not see that America is immersed in this vile condition today? The men and women that have been elected to a positions of leadership and given the responsibility of making laws that govern our country are liken to ‘the one that is in a position of wisdom and honor’ that King Solomon was referring to in Ecclesiastes….

“Dead flies cause the ointment of the apothecary to send forth a stinking savour: so doth a little folly him that is in reputation for wisdom and honour.” Eccl. 10:1

The congressmen and women that have aligned themselves with and propagated this vile sin of homosexuality are bringing forth a stinking savour. Can you smell it?

‘a condition that is in dire need of help…fools need not apply’

And these words, which I command thee this day, shall be in thine heart: And thou shalt teach them diligently unto thy children, and shalt talk of them when thou sittest in thine house, and when thou walkest by the way, and when thou liest down, and when thou risest up. And thou shalt bind them for a sign upon thine hand, and they shall be as frontlets between thine eyes. And thou shalt write them upon the posts of thy house, and on thy gates. Deut. 6:6-9

Now I can hear the skeptic now, this command was not given to the school or government and at the outset, one would say “this is the responsibility of the parents and not the society”.

To that point I would have to agree. The command was actually given to a people, the nation of Israel and yes from the capacity of a parent it is their responsibility to see that their children are taught the word of God.

But what happens when parents don’t teach their children what is right and what is wrong. If parents don’t teach their children it is wrong to do drugs, what is the responsibility of a society? If a child grows up in a home where violence is a normal part of life, if they grow up and kill someone, would and should society intervene?

I can hear you now, you enemy of the cross, you are saying this is rubbish and foolishness and really no comparison at all. If that is your thoughts, why don’t you tell me how is our society going to straighten out the mess in the public school system in America where God has been completely booted out? I bet you don’t even have the answer!

Martin Luther understood the importance of instilling biblical principles in a nations children….

“I am afraid that the schools will prove the very gates of hell unless they diligently labor in explaining the Holy Scriptures and engraving them on the hearts of youth.” Martin Luther

Jamaican Children’s Advocate says Sunday School attendance can curb juvenile delinquency…by United Bible Societies Staff

WEST INDIES, February 28, 2008 — Parents should get their children involved in Sunday School as a way of helping to reduce the nation’s rising crime rate and juvenile delinquency, according to the West Indies Children’s Advocate Mary Clarke.

Brad Reiches post a daily spiritual brief called GodThoughts Wired! Back in January of ’08 he posted a series of briefs on ‘Thoughts on 21st Century America’ that are dealing with the ungodly demise of our society. Below are some exerpts for two of the post.

Thoughts on 21st Century America- Brad Reiches

“The following is a partial synopsis of the judicial processes that have helped, and are helping to eventuate the spiritual and moral bankruptcy of the United States of America:”

1961:  The court held that Maryland could not require applicants for public office to wear that they believed in the existence of God (belief in God was no longer a requirement for public service).  The court unanimously ruled that this “religious test” violated the First Amendment.

1962Engel vs. Vitale, the United States Supreme Court rules that “school prayer is unconstitutional.”

1963:  Ignoring all precedent, the United States Supreme Court rules that “Bible reading over school intercoms is unconstitutional.”

1968:  The U.S. Supreme Court rules that, “the state cannot ban the teaching of evolution in public schools.”

1980:  The U.S. Supreme Court rules that, “the posting of the Ten Commandments in schools is unconstitutional.”

1985:  The U.S. Supreme Court finds that, “a state law enforcing a moment of silence in schools had a religious purpose and is therefore unconstitutional.”

1987:  The U.S. Supreme Court finds that, “a state law requiring equal treatment for creationism has a religious purpose and is therefore unconstitutional.”

1989:  The U.S. Supreme Court finds that, “a nativity scene displayed inside a government building violates the First Amendment and is therefore unconstitutional.”

1992:  The U.S. Supreme Court finds that, “prayer at public school graduation ceremonies violates the First Amendment and is therefore unconstitutional.”

2000:  The U.S. Supreme Court rules that, “student-led prayers at public school football games violates the First Amendment and is therefore unconstitutional.”

Please consider this….

The world thinks that the believer like Martin Luther, Mrs Clarke, Brother Brad and myself are fools and weak minded because we believe the word of God. The wisdom of God is foolishness to the world…..

Tell me how foolish our society is for allowing the enemies of the cross to remove God out of the public system. And before you answer look at the fruit of this decision.

And as far as the wisdom of the world is concerned how is man going to straighten the mess out without the help of God? For the fool has said in his heart there is no God…..

I think Mrs. Clarke may be spot on, eh?

‘the seed of suffering yields the fruit of glory’

AFGHANISTAN — In Afghanistan there were only 17 known evangelical Christians in the country before al-Qaeda attacked the United States. Today, there are well over 10,000 Afghan followers of Christ and the number is growing steadily. Church leaders say Afghan Muslims are open to hearing the gospel message like never before. Dozens of baptisms occur every week. People are snatching up Bibles and other Christian books as fast as they can be printed or brought into the country. Asia Harvest International

While browsing the Asia Harvest web site I ran across the above info in the News Section.

We must remember that the Lord is calling our Muslim friends with His glorious gospel as he is Jehovah Witness, Mormons, Hindu, Buddhist, Baptist, Methodist, etc…… the gospel is calling folk out of empty and vain religion everyday to the saving knowledge found only in Jesus Christ, for there is no other name given unto men whereby they might be saved. I should know, cause I was one called out.

Religion does not save, it only bounds. It’s only power rest in rites and duties that find no favor with God. It is a burdensome energy that has only temporal benefits.

What we understand from the news portion of Asia Harvest’s web site is that it is through trial and tribulation, suffering and pain, the gospel has its power. It was only when Stephen, the first New Testament martyr was stoned and Saul of Tarsus reeked havoc on the church, hailing both men and women into prison, that the gospel spread like a wild fire. Not only was the fire of the gospel set ablaze in Jerusalem but was now making its way throughout all the regions of Judaea and Samaria.

It is something that the enemies of the cross have never laid hold to. The hotter the persecution, the more effective the gospel… it is.

The more the church (our brothers and sisters) in Afghanistan is persecuted, the more fruit she shall yield for her Lord. It is a crazy truth and makes absolutely no sense, at least through human intellect.

Martin Luther had found this ‘persecution principle’ true….

“If the devil were wise enough and would stand by in silence and let the Gospel be preached, he would suffer less harm. For when there is no battle for the Gospel it rusts and it finds no cause and no occasion to show its vigor and power. Therefore, nothing better can befall the Gospel than that the world should fight it with force and cunning.”

But when true believers (like Stephen and others suffering for the cause of the gospel) stand face to face with opposition and adversity they find that they stand in His strength and not their own. When they stand upon His word, they shall find it is a firm foundation that has a faithful Saviour that carries us to His glory.

The church in America does not have a clue as to the truth of this principle, nor does it have any desire to serve their faith with such commitment. For ‘the devil has stood by in silence’ while another gospel has been preached in America. A gospel that has no power and caters to nothing more than the flesh. A gospel that will require such tribulation to remove the wheat from the chaff. A fire that shall raise the dross to top so that the true church in America can be purified.

“These things have I spoken unto you, that ye should not be offended. They shall put you out of the synagogues: yea, the time cometh, that whosoever killeth you will think that he doeth God service. And these things will they do unto you, because they have not known the Father, nor me.”  John 16:1-3

“God, who foresaw your tribulation, has specially armed you to go through it, not without pain but without stain.”                C.S.Lewis

‘religion’ nailed Jesus to the cross…. what will it do tomorrow?

Religious Americans: My faith isn’t the only way-OneNewsNow.com

WASHINGTON – America remains a deeply religious nation, but a new survey finds most Americans don’t believe their tradition is the only way to eternal life — even if the denomination’s teachings say otherwise.

The article makes the statement that the surveys findings………

  • “can either be taken as a positive sign of growing religious tolerance, “
  • “or disturbing evidence that Americans dismiss or don’t know fundamental teachings of their own faiths”.

So is “religious tolerance” positive. I guess it is contingent on what you perceive religious tolerance to mean.

If ‘religious tolerance’ means that Christianity can coexist with other religions, and not propagate the same violent spirit that we see amassed by other religions against Christianity; Hindu, Buddhist, Muslim, etc… then yes that is positive and is biblical.

If ‘religious tolerance’ means that Christianity is restricted from preaching the truth of God’s word for fear it will offend other religions, and even members of it’s own, then one must admit, this is not religious tolerance nor is it a good thing and is most definitely NOT biblical.

Sadly, the later is the course our society has charted. But we should not be surprised, as our Lord stated ……

If the world hate you, ye know that it hated me before [it hated] you. If ye were of the world, the world would love his own: but because ye are not of the world, but I have chosen you out of the world, therefore the world hateth you. Remember the word that I said unto you, The servant is not greater than his lord. If they have persecuted me, they will also persecute you; if they have kept my saying, they will keep yours also. But all these things will they do unto you for my name’s sake, because they know not him that sent me. If I had not come and spoken unto them, they had not had sin: but now they have no cloke for their sin. He that hateth me hateth my Father also. John 15:18-23

Concerning “American dismiss or don’t know fundamental teaching of their own faiths” should not really surprise one. The fundamental teachings of the Jews own faith rejected the Son of God, in fact Jesus rebuked the religion of His day for “transgress the commandment of God by your tradition?”

Religious rites will carry one no further than the grave, but it is faith in a resurrected Saviour that finds that sepulcher empty and the believer alive, believest thou this? If you faith has found a resting place in device or creed, instead of the word of God, you only have the hope of your religion in this life.

It is when the church dismiss or don’t know the fundamental teaching of God’s word that we find it very disturbing. That is what is happening in churches all across this United States. They have supplanted religious creeds and devices for the unadulterated word of God. Religion is more palatable to the flesh you know.

Two important truths that we can glean from the article……

  • Religion does not stand upon the firm foundation of God’s word. It only extracts bits and pieces so it has a religious flavor.
  • Religion knows no boundaries, they can be protestant, catholic, Muslim, Jew, black, white, brown or red. Religion is not contained in a sign or the color of ones skin. It is a spirit that resides in the heart and vehemently opposed to God’s word….

Nearly across the board, the majority of religious Americans believe many religions can lead to eternal life: mainline Protestants (83 percent), members of historic black Protestant churches (59 percent), Roman Catholics (79 percent), Jews (82 percent) and Muslims (56 percent). By similar margins, people in those faith groups believe in multiple interpretations of their own traditions’ teachings. Yet 44 percent of the religiously affiliated also said their religion should preserve its traditional beliefs and practices.

What religion wants you to think is that ‘many religions can lead to eternal life’. If one studies the Bible, they will understand that everyone is guaranteed eternal life. It does not matter whether you have trusted in God’s Christ or not. You have eternal life…. The only difference is where this one will spend it.

‘eating flesh and drinking blood’

The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly. John 10:10

In the gospel of John, Christ gives the parable about the ‘good shepherd’ to His disciples. In the parable He identifies Himself as ‘the door’ …

I am the door: by me if any man enter in, he shall be saved, and shall go in and out, and find pasture. John 10:9

… and later on, He identifies Himself as the ‘good shepherd’.

I am the good shepherd: the good shepherd giveth his life for the sheep.  John 10:11

Now the thief and the robber does not have the best interest of the sheep at heart, but the good shepherd, has come that they might have life and that, more abundantly.

“Turn not to the easiest, but to the most difficult … not to the more, but to the less; not towards what is high and precious, but to what is low and despised; not towards desiring anything, but to desiring nothing.”                                  Juan de Yepes- ‘John of the Cross’

This doesn’t sound like abundant living to me, maybe John of the Cross, did not fully understood what it means to be the recipient of abundant living?

“Whomever the Lord has adopted and deemed worthy of His fellowship ought to prepare themselves for a hard, toilsome, and unquiet life, crammed with very many and various kinds of evil.” John Calvin

John Calvin would not have made it any many pulpits today, at least in America, with this type of preaching. You see this thought process is not what conjures up abundant living in the mind of the ‘Christian in America’. This kind of preaching is not going to bring them in from the highways and the byways. His preaching needs more abundance!

It reminds me of the Jesus’ discourse on the fact that he is the bread of life (John 6) and “except a man eat his flesh and drink his blood, then one has no life in him”. The Jews therefore strove among themselves say “how can this man give us his flesh to eat?”

After Jesus got through expounding this truth to the multitude that had been following him we are told that “from that time many of his disciples went back and walked no more wit him.” Why? Because the words of Jesus were a hard saying, who can understand it?

I would liken the quotes of ‘John of the Cross’ and John Calvin to the word of Christ… “this is a hard saying, who can understand it?”, at least for the Church in America.

“If the devil were wise enough and would stand by in silence and let the Gospel be preached, he would suffer less harm. For when there is no battle for the Gospel it rusts and it finds no cause and no occasion to show its vigor and power. Therefore, nothing better can befall the Gospel than that the world should fight it with force and cunning.” Martin Luther

Pray for our brothers and sisters who are living in the midst of this opposition to the gospel and its God.

‘the king which ye have chosen you’

For historical background read 1 Samuel 8:1-22

This is the account in God’s word where the nation Israel came to Samuel and asked for a king to rule over them. They wanted to be just like all the other nations that had a king. So God sent Samuel to ‘find them a king after their own heart’.

We are fixing to get a new king (president) wonder what type of heart he will be satisfying?

Nurse’s Testimony shocks Illinois Senate Judiciary Committee
SPRINGFIELD, IL, March 27, 2001 (RFM NEWS)  EXCLUSIVE  RFM News has exclusively obtained a written transcript of Nurse Jill Stanek’s written testimony before the Illinois Senate Judiciary Committee’s hearing on the Born Alive Infants Protection Act.  Stanek, a labor and delivery nurse at Christ Hospital and Medical Center in Oak Lawn, Illinois, was first to expose an abortion procedure which many are calling “live-birth abortion.”
Stanek will appear in front of the Senate Judiciary Committee Tuesday afternoon in Springfield.  Following is a transcript of Mrs. Stanek’s testimony.

I am a Registered Nurse who has worked in the Labor & Delivery Department at Christ Hospital in Oak Lawn, Illinois, for the past 5-1/2 years. Christ Hospital performs abortions during the second and even third trimesters of pregnancy.
The abortion method being called into question that Christ Hospital and other Illinois hospitals practice is called “induced labor abortion.” This abortion technique sometimes results in infants being aborted alive. In the event that an infant is aborted alive at Christ Hospital, she or he is given no medical assessments or care whatsoever, but is left to die.
The induced labor abortion procedure can be performed using a couple different medications, but the goal always is to cause a pregnant woman’s cervix to open so that she will deliver a premature baby who dies during the birth process or soon afterward. At Christ Hospital the physician inserts a medication called Cytotec into the mother’s birth canal next to the cervix. The cervix is the opening at the bottom of the uterus that normally stays closed until a mother is about 40 weeks pregnant and ready to deliver. But Cytotec irritates the cervix and stimulates it to open early.  When this happens, the pre-term baby drops out of the uterus, sometimes alive.
In the event that a baby is aborted alive at Christ Hospital, he or she is not given any medical care, but is rather given what my hospital calls “comfort care.” “Comfort care” is defined as keeping the baby warm in a blanket until the baby dies, although until recently even this was not always done. The baby is then offered to the parents to hold until he or she dies.

If the parents do not want to hold their dying aborted baby, as is most often the case, it is left to nursing staff or support staff on the floor to hold the baby until he or she dies.  And, until this past December, when staff did not have time or the desire to hold the baby, the baby was taken to our Soiled Utility Room and left there alone to die.  Christ Hospital’s comfort care policy, #WHS492, only requires that live aborted babies be checked for signs of life once an hour, or “as needed in order to verify time of death.”
It is not uncommon for a live aborted babies to linger for an hour or two or even longer.   At Christ Hospital, one of these babies once lived for almost an entire eight-hour shift.  Last year alone, of the 13 babies that I am aware of who were aborted at Christ Hospital, at least four lived between 1-1/2 to 3 hours, two boys and two girls. Christ Hospital says that it compassionately aborts babies with very serious mental or physical handicaps.  But Christ Hospital will also abort for life or health of the mother.  So at least two of the second-trimester babies who were aborted last year, for instance, were completely healthy.
One night, a nursing coworker was taking an aborted Down’s Syndrome baby who was born alive to our Soiled Utility Room because his parents did not want to hold him, and she did not have time to hold him. I could not bear the thought of this suffering child dying alone in a Soiled Utility Room, so I cradled and rocked him for the 45 minutes that he lived. He was 21 to 22 weeks old, weighed about ½ pound, and was about 10 inches long. He was too weak to move very much, expending any energy he had — trying to breathe.

Toward the end, he was so quiet that I couldn’t tell if he was still alive, unless I held him up to the light to see if his heart was still beating through his chest wall. After he was pronounced dead, we folded his little arms across his chest, wrapped him in a tiny shroud, and carried him to the hospital morgue where all of our dead patients are taken.
Other coworkers have told me about incidences of live aborted babies whom they have cared for. A Support Associate told me about a live aborted baby who was left to die on the counter of the Soiled Utility Room, wrapped in a disposable towel. This baby was accidentally thrown into the garbage, and when they later were going through the trash to find the baby, the baby fell out of the towel and on to the floor. A nursing coworker told me about an incident she was involved in last spring that she said “I just can’t stop thinking about.” She participated in the abortion of a healthy 23-1/7 week baby who was given no medical assessments or care after delivery, but was allowed to languish for 2-1/2 hours until she died, even though she showed early signs of thriving.

Just three weeks after this baby was aborted, another mother came to the hospital under similar circumstances, carrying an identically aged baby, and she was offered the same options.  But she said that she wanted her baby.  And so present at her delivery – because Christ Hospital is a Level III mother/baby care hospital — was a neonatologist, a pediatric resident, a pediatric nurse, and a respiratory therapist – all assigned specifically to take care of that little girl at delivery.  And for the two days that I tracked her, that little girl lived. Christ Hospital is one of only 11 hospitals that the State of Illinois has designated as a level III perinatal institution — its highest ranking — which means that Christ Hospital is considered to have both the best equipment and the most highly trained medical personnel care for the sickest of the sick mothers and babies.
Another nurse friend told me about the patient she was caring for who had chosen to abort her second trimester baby, having been told that the boy had gross internal and external fetal anomalies.  When her baby was aborted alive, however, he looked fine.  The mother became hysterical and screamed for someone to help her baby. A neonatologist was called over, but told the family that the baby had been born too early to help.  The mother was so traumatized that she had to be tranquilized, and it was left to the grandparents to hold the little baby boy the ½ hour that he lived.
Last July, I was asked to testify before the U. S. House Judiciary Subcommittee on the Constitution regarding the babies I knew about who were aborted alive and left to die at Christ Hospital.  Another nurse who worked at the hospital, but who has since moved to Virginia, Allison Baker, also agreed to testify.  Allison described walking into the Soiled Utility Room on two separate occasions to find babies left naked on a scale and the metal counter.  She told about the patient, that she herself had, who didn’t know that her aborted baby might be born alive, and after he was taken to the
Soiled Utility Room she kept asking, “Is he dead yet? Is he dead yet?”
Allison and I were called to testify in Washington in regard to a bill called the Born Alive Infants Protection Act. This bill simply clarifies an apparently confusing tenet — that any baby born alive, completely separated from his or her mother, whether through abortion or not, has the same rights as American citizen human beings that you and I have.   This would include the right to medical assessments and care — and not just “comfort care” when a baby is not wanted.
The Born Alive Infants Protection Act flew through the Judiciary Subcommittee, which had some well-known pro-choice congresspersons on it such as Jerry Nadler and Maxine Waters. It then passed in the House by a large vote of 380-15.  Almost everyone on both sides of the abortion debate clearly saw that what was being discussed was infanticide. It was still confounding that 15 Congresspersons could vote against this bill in favor of infanticide, but they did.   World Magazine listed these people and called them “the Fanatical Fifteen.” The congressional session did end before this bill could be introduced in the Senate last autumn and still stands to be reintroduced in the House very soon.
Meanwhile, here in Illinois, life and death go on. Four months ago, Christ Hospital unveiled its “Comfort Room.”  So now I can no longer say that live aborted babies are left in our Soiled Utility Room to die.  We now have this prettily wallpapered room complete with a First Foto machine, baptismal gowns, a footprinter, and baby bracelets, so that we can offer keepsakes to parents of their aborted babies. There is even a nice wooden rocker in the room to rock live aborted babies to death.
It is wrong that current Illinois law mandates a doctor to pronounce a born-alive aborted baby dead but does not mandate the doctor to assess that baby for life and chances of survival. It is wrong that Illinois law mandates both birth and death certificates be issued – admitting that these aborted babies are indeed human – but does not give these babies any rights whatsoever to medical care. No other children in Illinois or America are treated this way. It is just not right that a baby should be left to die simply because her mother does not want her. It is not right that the very doctors who may be miscalculating due dates and fetal birth weights or misdiagnosing fetal handicaps are the same ones deciding that these babies should not be assessed after delivery. They’re being allowed to destroy the very evidence that might make them liable for lawsuits if they have been wrong.
What is the difference between a teen-age girl at her prom putting her unwanted baby in the garbage to die and the medical staff at a hospital putting an unwanted baby in a Comfort Room to die? There is no difference.

The Senate Judiciary Committee begins hearing testimony Tuesday, March 27th, over Senate Bills 1093, 1094 and 1095, sponsored by Senator Patrick O’Malley (R-18-Palos Park), which would give equal protection under the law to all premature babies born alive–regardless of their age or whether their mother wants them or not; would require medical evaluation of all live births; defines “human being” in Illinois statutes; and sets up legal groundwork for civil liability.

Obama Blocked Born Alive Infant Protection Act- CitizenLink.com

He often stood alone as an Illinois lawmaker in opposition to protections for babies who survived abortion.

On Jan. 10, 2005, newly elected U.S. Sen. Barack Obama visited former colleagues and staffers at the Illinois state Capitol, where he had served seven years as state senator. I happened to be at the Capitol that day, too, and a friend and I took the opportunity to speak to Obama, who had not yet achieved rock-star status and was still approachable.

We were in Springfield to lobby for passage of the state Born Alive Infant Protection Act, legislation that would require hospitals to care for infants who survive an abortion. Obama spoke against the legislation in 2001 and 2002 and single-handedly defeated it in committee in 2003.

My friend stood in Obama’s path and said, “Senator, we are going to pass Born Alive here in Illinois this year.”

Obama smiled smoothly and agreed, “I think you will,” adding, “I would have voted for the Born Alive Infant Protection Act in Illinois had it been worded the same as the federal bill. I think that’s the position the Democrats should take.”

There’s just one thing he forgot to mention: Obama had stopped his committee from adding the federal wording.

With Obama no longer in the state Senate, the Born Alive legislation passed in 2005.

Obama’s Stance on Abortion-http://www.knowobama.org/abortion.php

Position on Sex Education: Senator Obama supports “replacing funding for abstinence-only programs at home and abroad with scientifically based HIV prevention programs that would include age-appropriate sex education.” [1]
He is a co-sponsor of the REAL Act and the Prevention First Act, and introduced the Communities of Color Teen Pregnancy Prevention Act of 2007, which would provide grants for projects to prevent teen pregnancies and sexually transmitted diseases in racial, ethnic minority, or immigrant communities. [2]
Position on Abortion: Senator Obama supports abortion rights. In the Illinois State Senate, he voted against a bill to ban late-term abortions. Obama said that he did not support the ban because it did not contain a clause to protect the life of the woman. During the April 2007 Democratic debate, Obama said that he trusts women to make their own decisions about whether or not to have an abortion “in conjunction with their doctors and their families and their clergy.” [3]
In a January 24, 2008, interview with Christianity Today, Obama had this to say about abortion: “I don’t know anybody who is pro-abortion. I think it’s very important to start with that premise. … Our goal should be to make abortion less common, that we should discourage unwanted pregnancies and encourage adoption wherever possible. … I think the state can legitimately say that we are prohibiting late-term abortions as long as there’s an exception for the mother’s health.” [4]
Voting Record:

  • Voted against banning partial birth abortion. (October 2007)
  • Trust women to make own decisions on partial-birth abortion. (April 2007)
  • Extend presumption of good faith to abortion protesters.  (October 2006)
  • Protect a woman’s right to choose. (May 2004)
  • Supports Roe v. Wade. ( July 1998 )
  • Voted NO on notifying parents of minors who get out-of-state abortions. (July 2006)
  • Voted YES on $100M to reduce teen pregnancy by education & contraceptives. (March 2005)
  • Rated 0% by the NRLC, indicating a pro-choice stance.    (December  2006)[5]

Sen. Obama received the following scores on NARAL Pro-Choice America’s Congressional Record on Choice.

  • 2007: 100 percent
  • 2006: 100 percent
  • 2005: 100 percent [6]

“And ye shall cry in that day because of your king which ye shall have chosen you: and the Lord will not hear you in that day.” 1 Samuel 8:18

CAUTION! This post is NOT for the faint of heart. Seriously..

The video below is ‘truly a labor of love’. Members of the Marine Mammal Conservancy in Key Largo, along with volunteers work hard to save “Gauge” a 1,000 lb pygmy sperm whale found stranded in shallow waters off the Florida Keys, in February of 2008.

Rescue teams spent hours moving the whale into a truck and transported the animal to the MMC, where the all-volunteer team at the Conservancy hoped to rehabilitate the mammal and eventually release it.

It is society at its best….. going all out to save the life of this whale. Please take the time to watch and listen to the video and audio.

It is not only the whales that receive special attention in our society. The sea turtles are provided safe haven along the gulf coast of Florida and Alabama.

Protect Sea Turtles: Sea Turtles are an endangered species. They lay their eggs along the Beaches of South Walton. Avoid the use of flashlights near nests in the evening, do not leave beach chairs and other items on the beach overnight (they block the turtles’ path), and keep your distance if you see turtles or eggs. Sea turtles are protected by federal and state law and substantial fines and federal imprisonment may result from killing, harming, or even interfering with a sea turtle

The above blurb is included in the Compass Resorts, Destin Condo Rentals in Destin Florida. The information is included in their Rental and Vacation Information package that goes out to clientele vacationing on any of their properties along the Northwest coast of Florida.

The U.S Endangered Species Act of 1973 stated “No person may take, harass, harm, pursue, hurt, shoot, wound, kill, trap, or attempt to engage in any such conduct., or capture any marine turtle, turtle nest, and/or eggs.

Any person who knowingly violates any provision of this act may be assesses a civil penalty up to $25,000 or a criminal penalty up to $50,000 and up to one year imprisonment.”

Fine Print under Florida Law Chapter 370

“No persons may take, possess, disturb, mutilate, destroy, cause to be destroyed, sell, offer for sale, transfer, molest, or harass any marine turtle nest or eggs at any time. Upon conviction a person may be imprisoned for a period up to 60 day or fined up to $500, or both, plus additional penalty of $100 for each sea turtle egg destroyed or taken.”

To interfere with the nest of these sea turtles can result in substantial fines. So if you plan on vacationing along the gulf coast of Alabama or Florida, you would do well to heed the “PROTECT THE SEA TURTLE WARNING”

The U.S Endangered Species Act of 1973 was not the only law that had a 1973 date of origin. ROE vs WADE was also birthed the same year which legalized the murder of unborn children while still in their mother’s womb.

Our judicial system some how reasoned this distinction. It is permissible to destroy the life of an unborn child while still in the protection of the womb, but makes it a crime to fool with the eggs of a sea turtle. I could labor the ignorance of this distinction for hours, but I don’t really think it is necessary, because the justification is inexplicable.

The results of what our society is doing to innocent babies while still in their mothers womb, is not near as honorable as what we are doing for the turtles and the whales, eh?

Pictures are from the Repent America web site.

By now most all of the readers of the post that have made it this far are probably reeling in disgust and possibly even offended by the last four pictures.

They can not be considered the fruit of a societies ‘labor of love’ at least in comparison to the good deeds we have discussed with the whales and the turtles. It is hard for me to understand, except for the fact that it is evidence of sin. How can a society see the value of the turtle and the whale while overlooking one created in the image of God?

You see my friend, that is why society does not like for the pictures to be broadcast for public viewing, because it is the testimony that our society in immersed in a grievous sin, and no body likes to be reminded of this fact.

The scripture teaches us that there is a way that seemeth right unto a man, but the end thereof is the way of death…….
