‘a condition that is in dire need of help…fools need not apply’

And these words, which I command thee this day, shall be in thine heart: And thou shalt teach them diligently unto thy children, and shalt talk of them when thou sittest in thine house, and when thou walkest by the way, and when thou liest down, and when thou risest up. And thou shalt bind them for a sign upon thine hand, and they shall be as frontlets between thine eyes. And thou shalt write them upon the posts of thy house, and on thy gates. Deut. 6:6-9

Now I can hear the skeptic now, this command was not given to the school or government and at the outset, one would say “this is the responsibility of the parents and not the society”.

To that point I would have to agree. The command was actually given to a people, the nation of Israel and yes from the capacity of a parent it is their responsibility to see that their children are taught the word of God.

But what happens when parents don’t teach their children what is right and what is wrong. If parents don’t teach their children it is wrong to do drugs, what is the responsibility of a society? If a child grows up in a home where violence is a normal part of life, if they grow up and kill someone, would and should society intervene?

I can hear you now, you enemy of the cross, you are saying this is rubbish and foolishness and really no comparison at all. If that is your thoughts, why don’t you tell me how is our society going to straighten out the mess in the public school system in America where God has been completely booted out? I bet you don’t even have the answer!

Martin Luther understood the importance of instilling biblical principles in a nations children….

“I am afraid that the schools will prove the very gates of hell unless they diligently labor in explaining the Holy Scriptures and engraving them on the hearts of youth.” Martin Luther

WEST INDIES, February 28, 2008 — Parents should get their children involved in Sunday School as a way of helping to reduce the nation’s rising crime rate and juvenile delinquency, according to the West Indies Children’s Advocate Mary Clarke.

Brad Reiches post a daily spiritual brief called GodThoughts Wired! Back in January of ’08 he posted a series of briefs on ‘Thoughts on 21st Century America’ that are dealing with the ungodly demise of our society. Below are some exerpts for two of the post.

Thoughts on 21st Century America- Brad Reiches

“The following is a partial synopsis of the judicial processes that have helped, and are helping to eventuate the spiritual and moral bankruptcy of the United States of America:”

1961:  The court held that Maryland could not require applicants for public office to wear that they believed in the existence of God (belief in God was no longer a requirement for public service).  The court unanimously ruled that this “religious test” violated the First Amendment.

1962Engel vs. Vitale, the United States Supreme Court rules that “school prayer is unconstitutional.”

1963:  Ignoring all precedent, the United States Supreme Court rules that “Bible reading over school intercoms is unconstitutional.”

1968:  The U.S. Supreme Court rules that, “the state cannot ban the teaching of evolution in public schools.”

1980:  The U.S. Supreme Court rules that, “the posting of the Ten Commandments in schools is unconstitutional.”

1985:  The U.S. Supreme Court finds that, “a state law enforcing a moment of silence in schools had a religious purpose and is therefore unconstitutional.”

1987:  The U.S. Supreme Court finds that, “a state law requiring equal treatment for creationism has a religious purpose and is therefore unconstitutional.”

1989:  The U.S. Supreme Court finds that, “a nativity scene displayed inside a government building violates the First Amendment and is therefore unconstitutional.”

1992:  The U.S. Supreme Court finds that, “prayer at public school graduation ceremonies violates the First Amendment and is therefore unconstitutional.”

2000:  The U.S. Supreme Court rules that, “student-led prayers at public school football games violates the First Amendment and is therefore unconstitutional.”

Please consider this….

The world thinks that the believer like Martin Luther, Mrs Clarke, Brother Brad and myself are fools and weak minded because we believe the word of God. The wisdom of God is foolishness to the world…..

Tell me how foolish our society is for allowing the enemies of the cross to remove God out of the public system. And before you answer look at the fruit of this decision.

And as far as the wisdom of the world is concerned how is man going to straighten the mess out without the help of God? For the fool has said in his heart there is no God…..

I think Mrs. Clarke may be spot on, eh?

  1. Well technically all of those issues found to be unconstitutional are unconstitutional. The United States government is not a theocracy and cannot be one due to the constitution. If you don’t like it then move, oh yeah not too many Christian Theocracies left…they all fell into secular governments..whoops. Seems secular governments work better anyway. The reason that religion is not taught in schools is who is to say which is the right one? I mean it isn’t for the government to say is it? Would you want a government telling you what to believe? Or shouldn’t that be a personal decision you make on your own, or a family decision based on your upbringing? Look what happens in nations where the government decides what religion is the “right one”, you have nations like Iran, Libya, Saudia Arabia, Pakistan, or even anti-religious states like China, would you want to live in one of those nations?

“The United States government is not a theocracy and cannot be one due to the constitution.”

Wes your speech betrays you my friend. Whether the United States government is a theocracy or not has nothing to do with the constitution. I remember this event http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CUhlBF8Em70 , do you? Did they realize they were infringing on the constitution. I believe I did see one of the representatives motion with a Christian gesture, did you see it? Wonder if they had a big screen monitor scrolling the words of the hymn for all to sing by? Or were these word written on the fleshly tables of their heart. ‘God Bless America’

Wes your thought process is just one foundational aspect of the demise of America. Now please allow me to clarify even though the leadership in America stood on the steps of the capital on 9/11 I do not believe that America is a Theocracy. It was nothing more than lip service caught up in a catastrophic emotion. But whether America is a theocracy was not the point of the post.

See I am old enough that I remember when America acted like a theocracy, before being anti-God was cool. I remember when in school, we had daily bible readings, prayer. We acknowledge Christmas, Easter and the true reason for the season. In English literature required reading was the likes of ‘Pilgrims Progress’ John Bunyan and
    ‘Paradise Lost’ by John Milton.

I can assure you that all of the children that were part of this required reading, and may not have come from Christian homes but there was a spirit present that did not warrant going to the school and suing the school because they did not agree with the curriculum. The schools were blessed by God for it. Today that spirit has been replaced with a vehement anti-Christ / anti-God spirit. The public schools are being cursed for it.

Now if you go back and look at the environment of the schools back then and compare them with what kids are immersed in today… no comparison. We have witnessed a serious digression in moral and educational character coming out of the schools. In fact universities are giving special grants to try to entice high school graduates to enter the teaching profession with financial help. It is getting hard to find people who want to teach in public schools across America… inner-city, even worse.

Please consider this article. What Happens If Prayer is Banned? http://saintpaulcommunitychurch.org/what_happens_if_prayer_is_banned.htm

Wes the point is this, as we have seen a nation move from acknowledging the true and living God, we have seen nothing but trouble; not just the public schools but every aspect of our society.

Wes are you keeping up with what is going on in our society every day…… our government is legislating our nation into a ‘Godless’ society. Every god is embrace except the true God. Check it out……
