‘the seed of Abraham continues to persecute Christ’

The burning of books is not new in the Bible. In the 19th chapter of Acts we find the Apostle Paul in Ephesus on his third missionary journey. The gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ is spreading with authority and his name is being magnified.

The scriptures tell us “that many that believed cam and confessed and shewed their deeds. Many of them also which used curious arts brought their books together and burned them before all men and they counted the price of them and found it fifty thousand pieces of silver”. Quite a testimony to the transforming work of the gospel.

In this we see that the heart that is transformed by the word of God repents and confesses it’s sin and destroys that sin publicly.

Another case of burning a book of sorts is found in the days of Jeremiah. Jeremiah was shut up and could not go into the house of the Lord, so he sent Baruch to read the word of the Lord into the ears of Jehudi. So the king (Jehoiakim) sent Jehudi to fetch the roll (scriptures)  and to read it to him and all the princes which stood beside the king.

So when the king heard of the pending judgement, he was not afraid not rent his garments , but took the scroll and cut it with a penknife and through it in the hearth until all the roll was consumed in the fire that was on the hearth.

Then the word of the Lord came to Jeremiah after the king had burned the roll and he wrote another roll and wrote in tit all the former words that were in the first roll which Jehoiakim the king of Judah hath burned.

The lesson we learn from this incident is that mans wilful rejection of God’s word and even the burning of the scroll in the hearth of fire, does not change the pending outcome. The word of God is true and cannot be consumed by fire.

JERUSALEM (AP) — Orthodox Jews set fire to hundreds of copies of the New Testament in the latest act of violence against Christian missionaries in the Holy Land. USAToday on MyYahoo

What we learn from the buring of the New Testament in Jerusalem is not only the latest of blatant attacks against the body of Christ by the seed of Abraham, but a testimony of a wilful rejection of God’s word. You see my friend you can tell a lot about a people and a society by the way they handle the word of God.

What does this tell us about America?

  1. Thanks For Sharing this nice Topic

Finally, Paul tells us who the true seed of Abraham is and the nature of that promise. We learned earlier that the Seed of Abraham was singular, one person, i.e. Christ.
Next Paul says, “For you are all the sons of God by faith in Christ Jesus for as many of you as we baptized into Christ have put on Christ. There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither slave nor free, there is neither male nor female for you are all one in Christ Jesus. And if you are Christ’s then you are Abraham’s seed, and heirs according to the promise.” (Gal. 3:26-29).
Those who accept God by faith and are baptized into Him become a part of that one Seed of Abraham who is Christ . We become one Seed with Christ, not many seeds, but one with Him. As the Seed of Abraham through Christ, we then become heirs/inherit the promise. The promise is salvation in Christ, i.e. the kingdom of God. See the post “Flesh and Blood Cannot Inherit the Kingdom of God.” The true seed of Abraham is Christ and the inheritance is the salvation in him to all nations (families of the earth) who are blessed in Him.

    • Thanks Grand Master for stopping by ‘A Word From Malachi’. You are correct as to who THE SEED OF ABRAHAM is, but for context I was wanting to consider two others.

Ishmael was in fact the first seed of Abraham yet he was born by the works of the flesh.

Isaac was the second seed in which the TRUE SEED CAME FORTH born of the promise. Not only the promise of Isaac, but the PROMISED MESSIAH… Yeshua!

The point of the post was that the seed (Israeli) youth were burning the New Testaments in 2008 in a willful reject of the Gospel of Christ. As their fathers before them betrayed Him and turned Him over to be crucified.

The irony is that the first seed (Ishmael and his decedents) has been about opposing the promised seed (Isaac) since his birth. This same spirit is opposing not only the Jew but the Christian as well. Herein lies the dilemma, the same anti-Christ spirit is not only opposing the Jew, but the Christian as well. Should one find it strange that the same anti-Christ spirit that exist in radical Islam, is found in a Jew? More importantly would we find it strange that this same anti-Christ spirit would reside in the church (the organization not the body) in America.

I would like to apologize for the YouTube video… obvious the anti-Christ spirit that is in control of YouTube has supplanted the content of the video with evidence of America’s own moral decay. More alarming is this same anti-Christ spirit seems to not only be alive and well but more blatant in its attempt to thwart the truth of God’s word…. just like the seed of the article.

Thanks again for stopping by ‘A Word From Malachi’. Hope you will take the opportunity to read and comment on other articles.

      God Bless my friend
