Evangelicals in ‘la-la land’ over Muslim agreement– OneNewsNow

At the conclusion of a recent four-day conference at Yale University, more than 150 Christian and Muslim leaders from around the globe announced the first step of the “Common Word” exchange drafted last November. The Christian representatives included the heads of both the National Association of Evangelicals (Leith Anderson) and the World Evangelical Alliance (Geoff Tunnicliffe). A statement released at the conclusion of the conference explains that “the intention behind the Common Word is not to foist the theology of one religions upon another or to attempt conversion.”

Appears that religion is attempting to work its magic. I would liken their attempts to ‘mixing oil and water’,

“The mosques would talk about Christianity in a positive light. Christian churches would talk about Islam in a positive light,”….

or maybe it is just the…

“meaningless talk; gibberish; nonsense”

… yes, I think that is what it is.

“For many deceivers are entered into the world, who confess not that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh. This is a deceiver and an antichrist. Look to yourselves, that we lose not those things which we have wrought, but that we receive a full reward. Whosoever transgresseth, and abideth not in the doctrine of Christ, hath not God. He that abideth in the doctrine of Christ, he hath both the Father and the Son. If there come any unto you, and bring not this doctrine, receive him not into [your] house, neither bid him God speed: For he that biddeth him God speed is partaker of his evil deeds.” 2 John 7-11

‘seeing ye shall see, and shall not perceive’

The phrase “mind’s eye” refers to the human ability for visual perception, imagination, visualization, and memory, or, in other words, one’s ability to “see” things with the mind.Wikipedia,

Don’t Know if any of the readers have ever seen the book the ‘MAGIC EYE’, A new way of looking at the world:by N.E.Thing, it was somewhat of a world-wide 3-D craze in the 90’s. The trick is to diverge you eyes while viewing a sophisticated random dot sterogram. In 1991 the random dot sterogram was merged with computer technology in combination with state of the art 3D modeling software and colorful art techniques, a totally new patented art form was developed… Magic Eye®. By slightly influencing the focus of your eyes while viewing the picture, the  eye perceives an entirely different 3 dimensional object that is raised to the surface of the picture that is unseen at a first glance, hence the ‘Magic Eye’. Very intriguing. The amazing thing as that many can not see the image with the magic eye.

Consider the comments from the study as to how the brain perceives the input from our eyes.

It is tempting to think of our eyes as mini-cameras constantly filming the outside world. In fact, vision is nothing like that. The seamless view of the world is an illusion created by the brain after it has dismantled the input it receives from the eyes.

For a start, we do not look at a scene in a steady way. Instead, our eyes constantly flicker back and forth (involuntary movements known as saccades), scanning scenes in detail. From this constantly shifting input, the brain builds up a coherent mental picture corresponding to a scene.

We now know that neurons in our brain specialize in recognizing particular aspects of a scene, such as edges or dots or motion. Each neuron has a ‘receptive field’, an area around it that is sensitive to its favored stimulus (like a detector attached to a security light, which can detect movement within a particular area of ground).

Then, in a computational task of staggering complexity, the brain integrates all these signals to create a visual impression of the outside world.         Resource: The Wellcome Trust

I have run across another intriguing phenomenon. Read the paragraph below… statistical data shows that only 55 people out of 100 can read it and understand what is written. Try it.

Amazing huh, or maybe scary, especially for those of us that can read this without any trouble. Understanding out of the midst of chaos?

The other big difference between the brain and a camera is that the brain guesses more. When presented with incomplete information, it fills in the gaps, making assumptions about what should be there given the rest of the visual input it is receiving.

This filling in can be useful. The visual system is often trying to extract patterns. So when it finds one but with a bit missing, it fills in the missing space, so we get a complete coherent picture. But it sometimes leaps to the wrong conclusion. Can we believe our eyes? Not always. The Wellcome Trust

This really makes one wonder whether our mind can trust what our eyes think they see? It is true in the spiritual realm. The folk saw the mighty works that Jesus did when he walked this sod, yet having seen they believed not. There appears to be somewhat of a disconnect between the physical eyes and the and what the mind perceives.

In the second chapter of 1 Corinthians, we are told that…

“eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for them that love him.”

If the eye does not perceive it then how can a man know it?

“But God hath revealed them unto us by his Spirit: for the Spirit searcheth all things, yea, the deep things of God. For what man knoweth the things of a man, save the spirit of man which is in him? even so the things of God knoweth no man, but the Spirit of God. “

Now the problem is this if we don’t have a ‘spiritual magic eye’ of sorts, we will never see the things of God, though it stands in our very face. God opens our eyes to the things of God when we are born again. Except a man be born again, he shall never see the Kingdom of God.

is there a difference between ‘religion’ and "radical terrorist"?

Israel, Islam & Armageddon – 55 min – Jul 14, 2006
Dave Hunt….

“Did you know that the “Palestinian people” never really existed? That despite what the media says, Islam is a basically violent religion? That the Bible contains hundreds of fulfilled prophecies concerning Jesus, Israel, and the last days? That Jesus is the TRUE Messiah? Find out all of these incredible things and more, in “Israel, Islam, and Armageddon”, probably one of the most striking documentaries ever put together. This video has a few sections chopped out, but otherwise it’s OK. If you appreciate this film, please let me know at JeffreyJones88@Gmail.com! [KEYWORDS] Islam Nuclear Dirty Bomb Allah Jehovah Yahweh War Syria Iran Iraq United Nations UN U.N. Security Counsel General Assembly Rapture Salvation Jesus Christ End Times Last Days Yeshua ha Mashiach IDF Middle East Lebanon Egypt Knesset Yasser Arafaat Rabin Prime Minister Peace process Two state solution Roadmap to peace.” Quote from author of the video.

The violence we see against the people of God, has not its origin in radical terrorist or even the hand of religion… it is Satan himself. The likes are nothing more than pawns in his hand and they move accordingly.

“Ye do the deeds of your father. Then said they to him, We be not born of fornication; we have one Father, even God. Jesus said unto them, If God were your Father, ye would love me: for I proceeded forth and came from God; neither came I of myself, but he sent me. Why do ye not understand my speech? even because ye cannot hear my word. Ye are of your father the devil, and the lusts of your father ye will do. He was a murderer from the beginning, and abode not in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaketh a lie, he speaketh of his own: for he is a liar, and the father of it.” Quote from Yeshua ha Massiach

‘can a leopard change his spots, an Ethiopian his skin?’

BoysGirlsWomen's bathroom sign at the O'Hare HiltonMen's bathroom sign at the O'Hare HiltonRestroom sign at the Annenberg School

If any of the readers have ever had the pleasure of dining along the Northwest Gulf Coast of Florida, they may have found themselves dining at McGuire’s Irish Pub and Restaurant. This eating establishment is renown world wide for a couple of things, one is its exceptional steaks and seafood, I mean FRESH seafood. The second may be a little less admirable but infamous none the less..  the signs that lead to the rest room are a little deceiving, ok, down right deceiving, the way they are posted and the small writing at the bottom of the signs lend themselves to leading patrons into the rest room of the wrong sex.

For over 30 years this has been a public fascination and source of humor for patrons from all over the world.  Without fail those who frequent McGuire’s make it a point to watch as new patrons make their way to the restroom and for the most part return red faced from the ‘error of their way’, or should we say the ‘error of the signs way’.

Well as all good things must come to an end, so it has with McGuire’s restroom signs; the Florida Department of Business and Professional Regulation has made McGuire’s remove the confusion of the signs at the risk of shutting down the eating establishment. Needless to say, this has become a very sore spot with the locals, and there is an online petition to negate the Florida Department of Business and Professional Regulation ruling. Below is a copy of the petition…

“McGuires forced to wash hands of restroom signs” “Local McGuire’s to lose bathroom humor” These are the headlines from the http://www.nwfdailynews.com and http://www.pnj.com — Flush. There goes 30 years of tradition down the toilet. Like the 1/2 million dollar bills hanging from the ceiling, kissing the moose or the signature drink the Irish Wake, the craftily worded signs on the bathroom doors are part of the charm of McGuire’s Irish Pub in Pensacola & Destin, Florida. It takes some careful attention to the fine print to end up in the right bathroom. For those who havent seen them, the gist is the men’s room sign has large print that reads “Ladies” and smaller text clarifying they shouldn’t go in there because it’s the men’s room-and vice-versa for the other bathroom. But not everyone sees the humor. The signs have been removed by order of the Florida Department of Business and Professional Regulation. The agency threatened McGuire’s with closure for a six-word violation- “Lack of signage properly designating bathrooms.” But McGuire’s isn’t giving up. Petitions to bring the signs back is something we are going to try. For 30 years humor and laughter have accompanied a trip to the restrooms at McGuire’s. We would hate to see this bit of history taken away from McGuire’s the locals, and the many tourist’s who enjoy a bit of Irish laughter.

Now the bathroom signs and the petition to change the departments ruling is not the purpose of this post. It is to bring to light what the state of Florida is trying to decide concerning some other restrooms in Gainesville, Florida.  Florida city hopes to resolve gender identity issue: OneNewsNow.

Gainesville, Florida, residents will likely decide whether to retain a gender identity ordinance this coming spring. The ordinance allows men — who say they feel like women — to enter women’s restrooms.

Yes, you read it correctly, men who feel like women– to enter women’s restrooms! This is a hard decision, who is qualified to make it, eh?

Cane Davis is one of the pastors heading up Citizens for Good Public Policy, which conducted a petition drive to put the issue on the ballot. Davis was asked what is wrong with the ordinance.
“I think by the fact that we got [more than] 8,000 petition signatures as opposed to the 5,600 that we were required, there’s [sic] a lot of people [who] think something’s wrong with it,” Davis explains.

I agree with Mr. Davis and the 8,000+ people that I think are capable of making the right decision. Hope the state of Florida will listen to them.

One other interesting note before closing 5,600 were required for the gender confusion petition. McGuire’s has 4,265. I wonder what will happen if they get to 5,600?

‘what are you going to do Eid al-Fitr weekend?’

If you work for Tyson Food, you will not have to make a decision as to what you will do this ‘Labor Day weekend’, but “what are you going to do this Eid al-Fitr weekend”?

Tyson Foods warms up to Islam-OneNewsNow

SHELBYVILLE, Tenn. – Workers at the Tyson Foods poultry processing plant in Shelbyville will no longer have a paid day off on Labor Day but will instead be given the Muslim holiday Eid al-Fitr as a holiday.

According to a news release from the Retail, Wholesale and Department Store Union, a new 5-year contract at the plant included the change to accommodate the hundreds of Somali Muslims who work at the plant .

Eid al-Fitr — which falls on Oct. 1 this year — marks the end of Ramadan, the Muslim holy month of fasting…

Religious Double Standards

We see Tyson Foods bending over backwards to make Somali Muslims feel right at home and then for you to follow the link to see what the Somali Muslims are doing to Christians in Somali…. https://bromalachi.wordpress.com/2008/08/03/the-faith-of-a-young-man-and-worthy-of-recognition/.

The day given honor in place of Labor Day, ‘Eid al Fitr may sound familiar..It is the day that ends the holy week of Ramadan the month of fasting. Sometimes the celebration gets a little violent  “A Gift… to celebrate Idul Fitri”… you can read more about it.

The Shelbyville Times-Gazette newspaper quotes union spokesman Randy Hadley as saying the negotiating team felt this change was “extremely crucial, since this holiday is as important to Muslims as Christmas is to Christians.”

The newspaper also quotes the union as saying two prayer rooms have been created at the Shelbyville Tyson Foods’ plant ” to allow Muslim workers to pray twice a day and return to work without leaving the plant.”

Wonder if American Christians going to Somali would receive the same recompense for their faith…. I don’t think so. Ask Hussein, the 28-year-old victim, had converted from the Muslim faith to Christianity, oh you can’t…. I guess that answers any questions we might have concerning the religious double standards permeating the Muslim world.

Even our Muslim friends have no trouble seeing the double standard, or do they?

Somali Christian martyred-OneNewsNow

A Somali Christian has paid the ultimate price for his faith.

Hussein, the 28-year-old victim, had converted from the Muslim faith to Christianity. Jonathan Racho of International Christian Concern says he was confronted by Islamic extremists who demanded to know if he faces Mecca when he prays, which is required of Muslims.
“Hussein says he doesn’t face Mecca when he prays because his God is omnipresent and he can face anywhere to pray,” Racho recounts the incident. “The extremists were very much enraged by his comments, and they killed him.”…..

“The woman saith unto him, Sir, I perceive that thou art a prophet. Our fathers worshipped in this mountain; and ye say, that in Jerusalem is the place where men ought to worship. Jesus saith unto her, Woman, believe me, the hour cometh, when ye shall neither in this mountain, nor yet at Jerusalem, worship the Father. Ye worship ye know not what: we know what we worship: for salvation is of the Jews. But the hour cometh, and now is, when the true worshippers shall worship the Father in spirit and in truth: for the Father seeketh such to worship him. God is a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth.” John 4:19-24

Pray for Hussein’s family and his brothers and sisters that shall walk the same road, knowing that The Prophet has already walked this road and shall walk it again with us anew.

‘to live is Christ, to die is gain’

To live is Christ, to die is gain (compilation) by Compilations

For some years now the Spirit of God has wrought through the study of His word a strong conviction that the church in America is one day going to find itself immersed in the same type of persecution that is going on in all of Asia, Africa, India, South America and Europe, and as a preacher of the gospel that unabashedly stands upon the unadulterated word of God, I will be a prime target.

I find the more that I listen to what we are seeing immerge under the guise of Christianity in the church in America, that religion is going to play a part in that source of persecution, as it was in the day of our Lord.

I am not the only one that has this same spirit of conviction, and don’t get me wrong, I feel we are in the minority, but there are others that feel this attack against the church is most certain.

These things have I spoken unto you, that ye should not be offended. They shall put you out of the synagogues: yea, the time cometh, that whosoever killeth you will think that he doeth God service. And these things will they do unto you, because they have not known the Father, nor me. John 16:1-2

I subscribe to a newsletter put out by, Greg Gordon and SermonIndex and this weeks message includes a compilation of speakers that speak to this same conviction. Please click on the link below and prayerfully listen to the men of God that bare this same spirit, then pray for our brothers and sisters that are living in the midst of this refining fire.

The work and ministry of sermonindex can be encapsulated in this one word: Revival. Sermonindex is not an organization, business, or any attempt by man to build something for God. It is rather a expression of a heart burden to see the Church revived and brought back to holiness, purity, and power with God. The main thrust of the speakers and articles on the website are towards an ‘apostolic’ vision of the church of God found in Holy Scriptures. This biblical balanced Christianity is something needed in contrast to our modern day commercial, superficial, cultural Christianity. The desire for a spiritual awakening is in hopes that it will restore this original apostolic church in this world as a better expression of what the Church should be.
