‘silencing the lambs’

‘Spring Lambs’… Original painting by artist Jan Blencowe

In the gospel of John 21:15 The Christ asked Peter “Simon son of Jonas, do you love me more than these?” to which Peter answered, “yes Lord, you know that I love you.” The Lord said unto Peter, “then feed my lambs.”

I received a newsletter from the American Family Association stating that two TV stations, WOOD-TV in Grand Rapids, MI and WSYX-TV in Columbus, OH, have banned a television special “Speechless…Silencing the Christians”. The one-hour special is filled with true life stories showing how not only the voices of Christians but their adherence to their very convictions are being attacked.

Oddly enough, the TV special shows how the media censors Christians, which is exactly what these two stations did!

Spokespeople for the TV stations said the program was too “controversial.” The reality that these stations, and probably many others, do not consider showing two homosexuals kissing or getting into bed with each other “controversial” or the frequent dialogue laden with blatant profanity as “controversial”. To label the fact that Christian voices are being suppressed as “controversial” is only evidence that not only is the Word of God meeting great opposition in America, but that there is a concerted effort to silence the lambs. This should not surprise us as both the media and Hollywood have been at enmity with God and His word for some time now, but now the forces have been reinforced by our government, and a formidable foe they are.

The manager of the Columbus station told the American Family Association that the station would not air the program because telling the truth about homosexuality did not…

“represent positive Christianity.”

If you believe the statement from the Columbus station, one might say that it is not an attempt to silence the lambs, just to insure that the church in America is manifesting a positive Christian image.

I think the American Family Association is spot on when they ask the question..

Are we moving to a time in the near future when local pastors whose services are broadcast will be banned because their sermons call the practice of homosexuality a sin?

If the truth of God’s word is silenced then government is left to espouse their own doctrine. Consider the Brazilian government.

Brazilian Government Says 99% of Citizens Are “Homophobic” and Must Be Reeducated: LifeSiteNews
Friday February 13, 2009

By Matthew Cullinan Hoffman

BRASILIA, February 13, 2009 (LifeSiteNews.com) – The Brazilian government has determined that 99% of its citizens are “homophobic,” and therefore must be reeducated, according to the Brazilian newspaper O Globo.

The results are taken from a study that tested for “homophobia” by asking people to comment on such statements as “God made men and women with different sexes so that they could fulfill their role and have children.”  The 92% of Brazilians who agreed partially or completely with the statement were labeled “homophobic.”

Another test question for “homophobia” was, “Homosexuality is a sin against the laws of God.”  Fifty-eight percent of Brazilians agreed.

Those who agreed partially or completely that “Homosexuality is an illness that should be treated” (41%) were also labeled “homophobic,” as were those who objected to homosexuals kissing and hugging in public (64%).

According to O Globo, Brazil’s federal government will use the data “to plan new policies, and warns that it has now detected a dark consequence of so much prejudice: intolerance.”  The study was performed by an organization linked to the socialist Labor Party, which currently occupies the nation’s executive branch and predominates in the legislature.

“There’s no way [for the government] not to involve itself, because intolerance must manifest itself in crimes, including crimes committed by agents of the government,” said Paulo Biagi, coordinator of the government’s official “Brazil Without Homophobia” campaign.

Biagi says that the government will now begin to “rearticulate” the case for its proposed “anti-homophobia” law, which would make it illegal to criticize homosexual behavior in Brazil.

In addition, the government will be launching the National Plan for the Promotion of Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, and Transgendered Citizens in May.  It will also soon initiate a television campaign to combat “homophobia” in conjunction with ten other Latin American countries.

“What is surprising is how a population that is 99% against homosexuality is accepting passively that its 100% pro-homosexuality government is lifting homosexual acts to the level of inviolable sacredness,” wrote Brazilian pro-family activist Julio Severo on his blog, Last Days Watchman, “and at the same time it is lowering 99% of Brazilians to the class of ‘ignorant mob’ that should be forcefully condemned to state policies of reeducation,”

Now we are starting to understand what the image of ‘POSITIVE CHRISTIANITY’ looks like… it is  to change the Christian’s mind as to what God’s Word says is SIN!

It may be that we are seeing this same attempt to reeducate America, and the media is just the modus operandi, so that we will openly embrace the sin of homosexuality. If reeducation does not work the government already has in place the support of the law… take a gander at this government web site:

CIVIAL RIGHTS- http://www.whitehouse.gov/agenda/civil_rights/

What is the Christian left to do?

I was reading an article the other day… “The Abolition of Truth” written by Rev. Paul Michael Raymond Pastor of The Reformed Bible Church In Central Virginia @ Appomattox; in his article he talks about the church returning to a Christianity that is biblically based.

America is quickly moving down the road to perdition and it is time to do something about it, starting with Ecclesiastic accountability. While governmental accountability is also essential, it is the church and her ministers that must hold civil leaders accountable to the Law of God. This “reformation” of the church must be waged swiftly, without any hesitation, through the publication and application of Biblical ideas and solution-oriented cultural analysis. Christianity must be re-examined so that it may be explained Biblically. Since the majority of “so-called” professing Christians and their clergymen seem to be lost as to what a ‘Biblical Christian’ is, and how a Biblical Christian should behave according to the Dominion Mandate, a re-indoctrination to the Real Biblical faith must be once again proclaimed with clarity and boldness.

I agree whole heartedly with what Pastor Raymond is saying in this article but want all of the church (both the pulpit and the pew) to understand that following this admonition will most assuredly bring forth a purging spirit, that will ultimately purify The Body.

These things have I spoken unto you, that ye should not be offended. They shall put you out of the synagogues: yea, the time cometh, that whosoever killeth you will think that he doeth God service. And these things will they do unto you, because they have not known the Father, nor me. John 16:1-3

“O most merciful Christ,” John Huss wrote while awaiting his execution, “give us a courageous spirit, so that it may be ready. And if the flesh is weak, may your grace go before it, for without you we can do nothing, and above all, without you we cannot face a cruel death. Give us a bold courage and upright faith, a firm hope, and perfect charity, that we may give our life for you in all patience and all joy. Amen.”

YE Obama 2008

I was watching the FOX News channel today and on America’s News HQ, Brian Wilson was interviewing two host on the ‘Beyond The Headlines’ segment ‘How is President Obama Doing?’.

The the topic of discussion was surrounding President Barack Obama’s joint address of  congress on February 24 and what’s the message he needs to get across?

The comments from one of the host, April Ryan, White House correspondent for the Urban Radio Network, said that…

“Obama needs  not only to rally the people of our nation but must rally the people of the world, for it is a global economy that is at stake and he must find the balance to rally the markets as well.”

When I heard Ms. Ryan’s statement I felt she might be putting just a little too much weight upon the shoulders of President Obama… after all he is only human.

For the longest time I have felt that our country was heading in the wrong direction… the proverbial snow-ball heading down the hill and as it gets bigger and bigger I have little doubt that ‘man’ shall curtail its downward spin.

With the turn of events of the last year or so, it has been more apparent to me that the only hope for not only America, but the world, is God’s divine intervention…. then I ran upon the poll listed below.

Poll: Obama More Popular Than Jesus, Gandhi and Martin Luther King Jr.

John Lennon once claimed the Beatles were more popular than Jesus. Now President Obama has evidence that he’s more popular than both.

Obama topped a new Harris interactive poll that asked 2,634 Americans who they admire enough to call a hero.

Jesus came in second on a list that includes God, Mahtma Gandhi and George Washington.

Other historic or notable figures making the top 10 were Martin Luther King Jr., Ronald Reagan, George W. Bush, Abraham Lincoln, John McCain, John F. Kennedy, U.S. Airways pilot Chesley Sullenberger and Mother Teresa.

Participants named the heroes randomly instead of being shown or read a list of people to choose from. The poll was conducted online between January 12 and 19, 2009.

At the 16th spot in the poll, George Washington, Bill Clinton and Colin Powell tied.

Other politicians who made the poll’s top 25 include Hillary Clinton (12), FDR (13), Condoleezza Rice (12) and Sarah Palin (21).

God ranked 11th, between Mother Teresa and Hillary Clinton.

Of the multiple reasons participants gave to explain their choices of heroes, the ones most cited is, “Doing what’s right regardless of personal consequences” with 89 percent, “Not giving up until the goal is accomplished” with 83 percent and “Doing more than what other people expect of them,” with 82 percent. Also popular were “Overcoming adversity” and “Staying level-headed in a crisis.”

In the first Harris Poll asking this question in 2001, Jesus came in first, followed by the Rev. King, Powell, John F. Kennedy and Mother Teresea.

Obama joked last year at a roast that contrary to rumors, he was not born in a manger but on the planet Krypton. Apparently, Obama is even more popular than Superman, who didn’t make the cut. FOX News

Maybe I was wrong? If the poll is right. One might think that Obama is maybe more than just a man.

It seems that we in America and even amidst the world have fashioned a god after our own image and we want to give him credit for bringing us up out of the land of Egypt. Or it could be that he is leading us to the same? With him is the arm of the flesh.

Hath any of the gods of the nations delivered at all his land out of the hand of God’s judgement?

12-Year-Old Stuns Pro-Choice Teacher and School with Pro-Life Presentation LifeSiteNews.com

By Kathleen Gilbert

TORONTO, February 11, 2009 (LifeSiteNews.com) – 12-year-old “Lia” of Toronto has become a star at her school and on Youtube with her five-minute pro-life speech, crafted for a school competition.  Despite discouragement and outright opposition, Lia’s presentation was so well done that she reportedly won the contest she was told she would be disqualified from, due to the “controversial” message of her speech.

“She was also told that if she went ahead with that topic, she would not be allowed to continue on in the speech competition,” Lia’s mother wrote in the email to the Moral Outcry blog.  “Initially, I tried helping her find other topics to speak on, but, in the end, she was adamant. She just felt she wanted to continue with the topic of abortion. So she forfeited her chance to compete in order to speak on something she was passionate about.”

The mother told LifeSiteNews.com (LSN) that the girl’s homeroom teacher was supportive of Lia’s speech even though she was pro-choice.  “After helping Lia do the speech she said, ‘It really got me thinking,'” the mom noted.

At the schoolwide competition, the mom said one pro-choice teacher on the judge’s panel “didn’t even want to hear” the speech, and stepped down from the panel before Lia began.  After the speech, which Lia’s family said was well-received by both students and teachers, the judges initially told Lia she had indeed been disqualified.  But controversy among the judges eventually led to a reversal, and Lia’s family learned the next day that the panel agreed the girl deserved to win the competition. Read article in its entirety.

Hear the word of the Lord: for the Lord hath a controversy with the inhabitants of the land, because there is no truth, nor mercy, nor knowledge of God in the land. By swearing, and lying, and killing, and stealing, and committing adultery, they break out and blood toucheth blood…. Hosea 4:1

We are living in a day when controversial issues leave one feeling very uncomfortable, especially when the controversial issue is a confrontation of one sin or the condoning of such.

My friend there is without controversy a great mystery…..

‘God was manifest in the flesh, justified in the Spirit, seen of angels, preached unto the Gentiles, believed on in the world, received up into glory.’

Young Lia speaks with this Spirit and it is the Spirit of Life. The voice of reason and truth for the unborn finds its way from the mouth of a babe. Praise the Lord for not only Lia and her convictions for life, but the godly environment she has been immersed in at home.

Pro-life pastor prepares for sentencing- OneNewsNow

Watler HoyeAn Oakland, California, pastor could face jail time for expressing his pro-life views.

Pastor Walter Hoye ran into trouble with an abortion clinic while doing an informational picket. Dennis Howard, leader of The Movement for a Better America, believes Hoye is innocent.
“His approach was simply to carry a sign that said ‘Jesus Loves You. Can We Help?’ and offering those who wanted it some information about alternatives to abortion,” Howard explains.
A complaint was filed and Hoye was found guilty in spite of proof to the contrary. “There was a video taken of him doing this, and it shows that he was not harassing anybody,” Howard points out. “In fact, he was being harassed by escorts from the abortion clinic.”
Dennis Howard (Movement for Better America)
Pastor Hoye faces up to two years in jail and a $4,000 fine. Howard is calling Christians into action. “We feel that pro-life organizations around the country ought to take up this man’s cause and pray and fast between now and February 19,” he concludes.
That is when Hoye is due to be sentenced.

“If you tell a lie big enough and keep repeating it, people will eventually come to believe it. The lie can be maintained only for such time as the State can shield the people from the political, economic and/or military consequences of the lie. It thus becomes vitally important for the State to use all of its powers to repress dissent, for the truth is the mortal enemy of the lie, and thus by extension, the truth is the greatest enemy of the State.” Joseph Goebbels

Joseph Goebbels was a master propagandist of the Nazi regime and dictator of its cultural life for twelve years, Joseph Goebbels was born into a strict Catholic, working-class family from Rheydt, in the Rhineland, on 29 October 1897. He was educated at a Roman Catholic school and went on to study history and literature at the University of Heidelberg under Professor Friedrich Gundolf, a Jewish literary historian renowned as a Goethe scholar and a close disciple of the poet Stefan George.

Following the Fuhrer’s suicide, Goebbels disregarded Hitler’s political testament, which had appointed him as Reich Chancellor, and decided to follow suit. He had his six children poisoned with a lethal injection by an SS (Schutzstaffel) doctor and then himself and his wife Magda shot by an SS orderly on May 1, 1945. With characteristic pathos and egomania he declared not long before his death: “We shall go down in history as the greatest statesmen of all time, or as the greatest criminals.”  JewishVirtualLibrary

Are these the propagandist stones of Nazi Germany we see being strewn across the streets of America? Goebbels was correct that the ‘greatest enemy of the State is truth’.

“if ye continue in my word, then are ye my disciples indeed; and ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free”.

Please keep Pastor Walter Hoye in your prayers as he stands for life, in the face of the opposition from the State.

North Korea still worst persecutor of Christians

Christianity Today by Jenna Lyle

Posted: Wednesday, February 4, 2009, 15:34 (GMT)

Reclusive North Korea has yet again topped Open Doors’ list of the worst persecutors of Christians in the world.

North Korea ranked number one on the persecution watchdog’s 2008 World Watch List, the seventh year in a row that the communist country has come out on top.

Open Doors and other Christian rights groups say North Korea denies its citizens the right to freedom of worship and report imprisonment and torture of people caught practicing the Christian faith.

“It is certainly not a shock that North Korea is No 1 on the list of countries where Christians face the worst persecution,” says Carl Moeller, President and CEO of Open Doors USA.

“There is no other country in the world where Christians are persecuted in such a horrible and systematic manner.”

No 2 on the list was the Wahhabi kingdom of Saudi Arabia, while Iran came in at No 3. Both countries are ruled by a strict interpretation of Shariah law under which apostasy is punishable by death.

In the last five months, Compass News Direct reported that a daughter of a member of Saudi Arabia’s religious police was murdered after she wrote online about her faith in Christ, while a 28-year-old Christian man was allegedly arrested by Saudi authorities for telling of his conversion and criticising the kingdom’s judiciary on his website.

Open Doors said 2008 had been one of the toughest years for Christians in Iran since the Islamic Revolution in 1979 with a major crackdown on house churches and a large number of Christians arrested.

Afghanistan moved up three places from last year to become the fourth worst persecutor of Christians in the world, according to Open Doors, which said the Taliban had put greater pressure on Christians during 2008. There was international outcry when Christian aid worker, Gayle Williams, was shot and killed by the Taliban last October as she walked to the offices of the charity she volunteered for in Kabul.

Afghanistan was followed on the World Watch List by Somalia, the Maldives, Yemen, Laos, Eritrea and Uzbekistan.

Somalia moved from No 12 in 2007 to No 5 last year after a sharp increase in reports of persecution against Christians in 2008, while Open Doors said around 3,000 Christians were being held in Eritrean prisons.

India also moved up eight places to No 22 after the second half of 2008 was blighted by the worst outbreak of religious violence against Christians in Indian history, particularly in the state of Orissa, where believers were murdered and their homes and churches burnt down.

“The escalation of violence against Christians in India in 2008 is very troubling,” says Moeller. “Please pray for believers there.”

Countries to move down the list were China and Bhutan. China moved from No 10 to No 12, while Bhutan moved from No 5 in 2007 to No 11 last year.

Open Doors said it was positive about the drop in persecution against Christians in Vietnam, which moved from No 8 in 2006 to No 23 in 2008, and long-time World Watch List entry Colombia, which has now come off the list altogether.

Open Doors is encouraging Christians to join in its ongoing prayer campaign for North Korea, but especially during North Korea Freedom Week April 25 to May 2.

Press Release

23 June 2005

The following statement was issued today by four independent experts of the United Nations Commission on Human Rights with the endorsement of all participants at the twelfth Annual Meeting of the Special Rapporteurs/representatives, independent experts and chairpersons of the working groups of the Special Procedures of the Commission on Human Rights:
“On the first anniversary of the request made by all Independent Experts at their eleventh Annual Meeting, we deeply regret that the Government of the United States has still not invited us to visit those persons arrested, detained or tried on grounds of alleged terrorism or other violations in Iraq, Afghanistan, or the Guantanamo Bay naval base.
The request for a visit was made following the negative response to the request by the Working Group on Arbitrary Detention in January 2002 to visit Guantanamo Bay and the United States and the lack of a response to the joint request made by the Special Rapporteurs on torture and health in January 2004 to visit Guantanamo Bay. Such requests were based on information, from reliable sources, of serious allegations of torture, cruel, inhuman and degrading treatment of detainees, arbitrary detention, violations of their right to health and their due process rights. Many of these allegations have come to light through declassified Government documents.
The purpose of the visit would be to examine objectively the allegations first-hand and ascertain whether international human rights standards that are applicable in these particular circumstances are being upheld with respect to those detained persons.
The Independent Experts have given ample time to the Government to consider their request and have made themselves available for any needed consultations. In this regard, they note with appreciation the high-level meeting organized during the sixty-first session of the Commission on Human Rights to discuss the purpose and terms of reference for the visit. Nevertheless, the lack of a definitive answer despite repeated requests suggests that the United States is not willing to cooperate with the United Nations human rights machinery on this issue. This is particularly surprising in the light of one of the recommendations made by the Government of United States in a recent position paper entitled, “Enhancing and Strengthening the Effectiveness of the Special Procedures of the Commission on Human Rights”, which says that, “States should consider [country visits] requests seriously and in the spirit of cooperation with Special Procedures, and should respond in a timely manner”.
It is our conviction that no Member State of the United Nations is above international human rights law. Due to the seriousness of the allegations, the lack of cooperation and given the responsibilities to our respective mandates, we will jointly conduct an investigation based on all credible sources regarding the situation of the detainees in Guantanamo Bay. In the meantime, should the Government of the United States extend a visit to Guantanamo Bay we would welcome this development and would incorporate the findings from our mission into our other investigations”.
The independent experts are:
·Leandro Despouy, Special Rapporteur on the independence of judges and lawyers
·Paul Hunt, Special Rapporteur on the right of everyone to the enjoyment of the highest attainable standard of physical and mental health (“the right to health”)
· Manfred Nowak, Special Rapporteur on torture and other cruel, inhuman or degrading treatment or punishment
·Leila Zerrougui, Chairperson-Rapporteur of the Working Group on Arbitrary Detention

Does anyone think that the United Nations is concerned about human rights? Or it may be, that they do not look on the Christian world populous as human? Or it is more likely that they are being controlled by a spirit that is anti-Christ.

Remember our brothers and sisters that suffer at the hand of this anti-Christ spirit…

Beloved, think it not strange concerning the fiery trial which is to try you, as though some strange thing happened unto you: But rejoice, inasmuch as ye are partakers of Christ’s sufferings; that, when his glory shall be revealed, ye may be glad also with exceeding joy. If ye be reproached for the name of Christ, happy are ye; for the spirit of glory and of God resteth upon you: on their part he is evil spoken of, but on your part he is glorified. But let none of you suffer as a murderer, or as a thief, or as an evildoer, or as a busybody in other men’s matters. Yet if any man suffer as a Christian, let him not be ashamed; but let him glorify God on this behalf. 1 Peter 4:12-16

ABORTION SHOCK: Baby Born Alive Then Thrown Out…….

Fla. doctor loses license after botched abortion

Associated Press Writer

The Board of Medicine has revoked the license of a Florida doctor accused of medical malpractice in a botched abortion case in which a live baby was delivered, but ended up dead in a cardboard box.

The board on Friday found Dr. Pierre Jean-Jacque Renelique in violation of Florida statutes by committing medical malpractice, delegating responsibility to unlicensed personnel, and failing to keep an accurate medical record. Renelique and his attorney declined to comment after the hearing.

The Department of Health said Renelique was scheduled to perform an abortion on a teenager who was 23 weeks pregnant in 2006. Sycloria Williams had been given drugs in advance to dilate her cervix.

According to the complaint, she gave birth at a Hialeah clinic after waiting hours for Renelique to arrive. The complaint said one of the clinic owners put the baby in a bag that was thrown away.

Police found the infant’s decomposing remains a week later.

A medical examiner determined the cause of death was extreme prematurity, the complaint states.

At Friday’s hearing, Renelique told the board of his life-long quest to be a doctor. He said there are generations of physicians in his family, and that he decided to follow the same path after seeing his father treat patients.

Renelique described saving a woman’s life during the second year of his medical residency in Haiti. He later left his home country to work and train in the United States. It was never his intention to do abortions, he said.

“That was not part of my goals when I came to Florida,” he said. “But I had to do it to survive.”

During the board’s questioning, Dr. Elizabeth D. Tucker, an obstetrician-gynecologist from Pensacola, asked Renelique about three different types of medical forceps. Renelique replied that he possessed each of the instruments.

After each question, Tucker also held up a metal instrument, different from the one she had named and inquired about. One of the tools was a metal rod with an arrow attached at the tip.

Tucker asked Renelique if he had that. He replied that he did.

“For the record, these are from my antique collection,” she said later. “We don’t use these in terminations.”

Renelique’s attorney, Joseph Harrison, later requested that his client view the instruments more closely, which the board allowed. Renelique said he had never seen or used the spear in his life.

Renelique said he had advised the patient to come in early as a precaution, and that when he was en route to the clinic, he was called to tend to another patient having an emergency.

He said the clinic staff members didn’t tell him about the delivery when he arrived.

Harrison said Renelique expected the board to uphold the current restriction on his license, which prohibits him from performing abortions unless another physician is present. The Department of Health recommended that his license be suspended. But the board decided to revoke it instead which means he will not be able to practice medicine in Florida.

No criminal charges have been filed in the case, but the state attorney’s office is investigating.

`Cursed is anyone who kills another person in secret.’ And all the people will reply, `Amen.’

`Cursed is anyone who accepts payment to kill an innocent person.’ And all the people will reply, `Amen.’

Sometimes I receive letters telling me that even though they do not condone abortion that they would prefer that I not post the pictures of these murdered babies as they find them offensive.

Please allow me to clarify, it is not the pictures that are offending, it is the face to face reality of our nation’s sin. It is said, that a picture is worth a thousand words and the feeling that you are experiencing, if you are offended, is the conviction of God’s Spirit… and that a spirit of condemnation. As a nation we must repent of this vile sin and petition God for mercy and forgiveness.
