According to media reports, Michael Jackson is considering having his body “plastinated” by Body Worlds founder Gunther von Hagens. The controversial doctor says he could give the wacky pop star…

 “the gift of immortality.”

In the music video for his 1983 hit “Thriller,” Michael Jackson famously appears as a zombie. Now the eccentric music star could join the ranks of the undead for real: According to media reports, he is considering having his body posthumously preserved by plastination pioneer Gunther von Hagens.

The British tabloid the Daily Star reported that Michael Jackson was planning to have his body “plastinated” by von Hagens, who has himself achieved considerable fame through his successful — and highly controversial — “Body Worlds” exhibitions. The paper quoted a source close to the pop star as saying that the singer was “definitely up for undergoing the procedure when the time comes.”

In an interview published in the Wednesday edition of the mass circulation German daily Bild, von Hagens lent weight to the report. “I am not allowed to divulge the names of the people who donate their bodies to me due to patient-doctor confidentiality,” said the doctor, who shares the pop star’s fondness for black hats. “I will only say this — one of Michael’s Jackson’s employees has made contact with us.”

Von Hagens said that his patented plastination process could continue the process of reshaping Jackson’s body that the self-styled King of Pop has pursued through multiple plastic surgery operations. “I could give Michael the gift of physical immortality — he has already achieved this with his music.” Bild speculated that Jackson’s nose, which has famously received a series of surgical interventions, was already plastinated enough to not require any further work.

The Plastination inventor offered to show Jackson around his Body Worlds show which will be on at London’s O2 arena at the same time as Jackson’s recently announced comeback concert series, which begins in July. “I would happily walk Mr. Jackson through my exhibition,” von Hagens told the newspaper. “We could talk about a possible pose for him as a plastinate.”

Von Hagens’ Body Worlds exhibitions show bodies which have been given to his Institute for Plastination by donors who signed up for the process while they were alive and have been visited by more than 26 million people to date, according to the Body Worlds Web site.

Having been reared in the church as a young boy, I was always under the impression that those who trusted in Jesus Christ would live for eternity once they died. Having wholly trusted in The Christ (Yeshua ha Massiach) some twenty-eight years later I found this childhood assumption to be biblically sound.

Some years later while I was studying in the sixteenth chapter of the gospel of Luke it became quite apparent to me that everyone lives for eternity after they die. Prayerfully consider the text Luke 16:19-31

From this portion of God’s word, we find that death only affects the (physical) body but the soul of man lives on… forever….. forever!

Von Hagens said that his patented plastination process could continue the process of reshaping Jackson’s body that the self-styled King of Pop has pursued through multiple plastic surgery operations.

Von Hagens through his preservation process of ‘plastination’ may do a work on the body, but it is the soul that God has affixed His attention. That is the whole reason that He has sent His Son, Yeshua ha Massiach, that we might have life and that forevermore. Plastination has no power in this arena.

I would highly recommend the prostrate position; as the word of God promises that … “at the name of Jesus, every knee shall bow of things in heaven and thing in earth and things under the earth. And that every tongue should confess that Jesus is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.

I would highly recommend that we assume this position while we have the opportunity to choose. One day it will happen, without choice.

‘out of darkness into His marvelous light’

The above photograph is an infrared picture taken by satellite at night of North and South Korea. The illumination in the photo is evidence that South Korea is a free and vibrant society while the lack of the availability of electricity in North Korea is evidence that the North Korean government literally keeps its citizens not only in the dark, but under the strong arm of oppression and persecution.

The satellite photo tells the rest of the world that the people of North Korea are literally isolated with little or no contact with the outside world. This is not by coincidence for satellite pictures taken in the day show prison camps the size of large cities.

We have been giving thoughts to ‘the suppression of light’…

‘suppression of light brings forth utter darkness’

‘the suppression of light continued’

… and if you are a Christian, the worst place to live in the world is North Korea, according to Open Doors’ 2008 World Watch List released 04-feb08.

Below is an article that was posted this past week about a former propaganda officer from North Korea that is now born again and shedding forth the glorious light of the Gospel of Christ. He has been literally and spiritually called out of darkness into the marvelous light. Pray him Godspeed as he carries the precious light of this gospel.

Former North Korean propoganda officer now spreading the Gospel

A former propaganda officer for the North Korean army who defected from the secretive state is now working to spread the Gospel amongst his oppressed countrymen.

Kim Sung Min will be speaking about his defection at a banquet on 2 April organised by the Colorado-based ministry Seoul USA. He will also share his hope in the new Underground University, a group which has been set up to serve the severely persecuted church in North Korea.

Kim was once a staunch socialist but became disillusioned with the communist regime because of the lack of freedom and opportunity that he saw in the country. He was arrested after defecting but managed to escape and is now committed to spreading the Gospel in North Korea.

H S Foley, Executive Director of Seoul USA, said, “Mr Kim’s eyes were opened to the modern-day Holocaust that was going on around him in North Korea, where Christianity is illegal and even failing to keep a portrait of Kim Jong-Il clean can mean being sent to a political prison camp.

“Like thousands of other North Koreans, he defected to China. But his newfound Christian faith compelled him to spread that message of hope to his fellow North Koreans. So, he became a prominent freedom fighter and advocate for religious freedom for North Korea.”

Kim was the founder of Free North Korean Radio and is now the Dean of the Underground University in Seoul, South Korea. The university is a joint project of Seoul USA and The Voice of the Martyrs-Canada and helps to train North Koreans to return to their country so that they can help grow the church there.

Foley said of the 2 April event, “This banquet is a unique opportunity for the people of Colorado to hear the life-changing story of Mr Kim, learn about the persecution of North Korean Christians, and get involved in a radical underground movement designed to change North Korea from the inside out.” Source: ChristianityToday

Please continue to pray for all of our brothers and sisters in North Korea as well as all of Asia as they stand upon the gospel of Christ. I pray that they will read this and realize that we are praying for them.

‘the suppression of light continued’

On March 22, 2009 I posted a report from the Associated Press ‘the suppression of light brings forth utter darkness’ concerning the Obama administration’s endorsement of a U.N. declaration calling for the worldwide decriminalization of homosexuality.

Comments from the article detailed the administration expressed a concern for human rights around the world by saying…

“The United States is an outspoken defender of human rights and critic of human rights abuses around the world,” said one official. “As such, we join with the other supporters of this statement and we will continue to remind countries of the importance of respecting the human rights of all people in all appropriate international fora.”

Well, anyone that keeps up with the persecution of Christians through out North Korea, China, India, Iraq, Africa, etc… will understand that our government does not only care about the inhumane acts perpetrated against the body of Christ, but has taken a ‘blind eye’ approach to these heinous human right violations.

How can something so blatant receive nothing more than this ‘blind eye’ view?

It is because we are living in a world that is dominated by a spirit of darkness. In order for this darkness to prevail, light must be suppressed.

I have been considering this truth from a biblical perspective and found that there are three levels to this world’s attempt to suppress light.

For context; study out the 10 chapter of the Gospel of Matthew and Christ commissioning of His 12 disciples. Matthew 10:1-42

From the above mentioned text Christ did not attempt to deceive His disciples into taking the message of the Kingdom of Light to a world of darkness. He warned them that they would be met with great opposition. More importantly that the attempt to suppress the light would come in three different levels.

Level 1

Matt.10:14- And whosoever shall not receive you, nor hear your words, when ye depart out of that house or city, shake off the dust of your feet.

The first level is a wilful rejection of God’s Christ and His word. They simply choose to laugh the Word of God to disdain. We have heard the voice before… “I am not interested in your God nor His Christ, you may want to take Him to someone who is weak and feeble minded, maybe they will embrace this foolishness.”

Level 2

Matt. 10:17-18- But beware of men: for they will deliver you up to the councils, and they will scourge you in their synagogues; And ye shall be brought before governors and kings for my sake, for a testimony against them and the Gentiles.

The second level moves up in intensity. When turning a deaf ear to the Word of God does not work and the Christian continues to espouse this ‘doctrine of sin and salvation’ the hearer becomes more aggressive.

The government intervenes and attempts to cast doubt and fear by threatening to take the believers stuff, material things. Tactics of physical beating and threats of imprisonment.

America does not have a clue as to what it means to live in jeopardy of loosing everything for the cause of following Christ. Our brothers and sisters in China and North Korea know what it truly means to sacrifice their all for their Lord. Pray they stand fast in this message!

Level 3

Matt. 10:28- And fear not them which kill the body, but are not able to kill the soul: but rather fear him which is able to destroy both soul and body in hell.

The final level and most aggressive in its attempt to suppress the light of the believer is to kill the body… Yes, even to lay down ones life for the cause of Christ.

When the opposition to the gospel becomes so vehement, the last resort is to kill the witness in order to shut the mouth.

The enemy understands fully that killing the witness does not and can not shut the mouth of the gospel. Even in immense persecution, the gospel spreads like a fire that can not be quenched.

Tertullian [200 AD] wrote “Go on, rack, torture, grind us to powder: our numbers increase in proportion as you mow us down. The blood of Christians is their harvest seed.”

If you are a Christian and are living in a country where you are not being persecuted for your faith, please consider praying for our brothers and sisters that are.

Remember them that are in bond, as bound with them. Pray that God will encourage them and under gird them as they faithfully stand upon the firm foundation of His word. I can assure you that these same believers that we are praying for today will one day be lifting us up in prayer as we find ourselves immersed in this same persecution as the world of darkness attempts to ‘suppress the light’

‘the suppression of light brings forth utter darkness’

Associated Press smallWASHINGTON –  The Obama administration will endorse a U.N. declaration calling for the worldwide decriminalization of homosexuality that then-President George W. Bush had refused to sign, The Associated Press has learned.

U.S. officials said Tuesday they had notified the declaration’s French sponsors that the administration wants to be added as a supporter. The Bush administration was criticized in December when it was the only western government that refused to sign on.

The move was made after an interagency review of the Bush administration’s position on the nonbinding document, which was signed by all 27 European Union members as well as Japan, Australia, Mexico and three dozen other countries, the officials said.

United Nations UN logoThe officials spoke on condition of anonymity because Congress was still being notified of the decision. They said the administration had decided to sign the declaration to demonstrate that the United States supports human rights for all.

“The United States is an outspoken defender of human rights and critic of human rights abuses around the world,” said one official. “As such, we join with the other supporters of this statement and we will continue to remind countries of the importance of respecting the human rights of all people in all appropriate international fora.”

The official added that the United States was concerned about “violence and human rights abuses against gay, lesbian, transsexual and bisexual individuals” and was also “troubled by the criminalization of sexual orientation in many countries.”

“In the words of the United States Supreme Court, the right to be free from criminalization on the basis of sexual orientation ‘has been accepted as an integral part of human freedom’,” the official said.

Homosexuals and other groups had criticized the Bush administration when it refused to sign the declaration when it was presented at the United Nations on Dec. 19. U.S. officials said then that the U.S. opposed discrimination on the basis of sexual orientation but that parts of the declaration raised legal questions that needed further review.

According to negotiators, the Bush team had concerns that those parts could commit the federal government on matters that fall under state jurisdiction. In some states, landlords and private employers are allowed to discriminate on the basis of sexual orientation; on the federal level, homosexuals are not allowed to serve openly in the military.

It was not immediately clear on Tuesday how the Obama administration had come to a different conclusion.

When it was voted on in December, 66 of the U.N.’s 192 member countries signed the declaration — which backers called a historic step to push the General Assembly to deal more forthrightly with anti-homosexual discrimination. But 70 U.N. members outlaw homosexuality — and in several, homosexual acts can be punished by execution. More than 50 nations, including members of the Organization of the Islamic Conference, opposed the declaration.

Some Islamic countries said at the time that protecting sexual orientation could lead to “the social normalization and possibly the legalization of deplorable acts” such as pedophilia and incest. The declaration was also opposed by the Vatican.

Since the beginning of time we have seen there is a spirit that desires nothing more than to suppress the truth of God’s word…. “Yea, hath God said, Ye shall not eat of every tree of the garden?” [Genesis 3:1-24]

That same spirit that existed in the Garden of Eden is alive and well today and can be seen in the actions of government officials and leaders in the promotions of particular declarations, bills and laws that are being set up. Case in point the support of the ‘White House to endorse U.N. ‘gay rights’ declaration’.

The enemy of Truth often works in and through government officials to quench the voice of truth that should be espoused by the people of God. We find evidence of this in Mark 6:14-29; the suppressing of the light of John the Baptist.

John was a light and was sent to bare witness unto the truth. In fact Christ said “he was a burning and a shining light.” John 5:33-35

Now we need to understand that there is no place for light in a world that is content on dwelling  in darkness, so in Herod’s attempt to suppress light, he laid hold to John and kept him in prison.

What crime had warranted placing John under arrest; revolt, murder, extortion, robbery? No, nothing more than he spoke the truth…

“for Herod had laid hold upon John and bound him in prison for Herodias’ sake, hi brother Philip’s wife: for he (Herod) had married her and John had said unto Herod, It is not lawful for thee to have thy brother’s wife.”

This spirit could not thwart the conviction of John’s heart so was left only to remove his head to stop his mouth.

The day is not too far off that we will see such strong convictions, that are grounded in the truth of God’s word will land a man in bonds as it did John the Baptist.. it is happening throughout all of China and North Korea today. Yet the lights of truth continue to shine in this world of darkness.

Consider this-

  • An estimated 100 million Christians worldwide suffer interrogation, arrest and even death for their faith in Christ, with millions more facing discrimination and alienation. Open Doors
  • In the past 100 years (during the 20th Century) 26,000,000 Christians were killed for their faith (martyred).  This is more than the combined total of all previous centuries.  It does not count the untold numbers who were persecuted in other ways, imprisoned, tortured, and even enslaved. ‘Worldwide Persecution of Christians’

“Go on, rack, torture, grind us to powder: our numbers increase in proportion as you mow us down.  The blood of Christians is their harvest seed.”  -Tertullian (Ca. 200 A.D.)

“The United States is an outspoken defender of human rights and critic of human rights abuses around the world,” said one official.

Surely this official meant human rights abuses against anyone…

… that is not a professing Christian or the unborn that has yet to taste the breath of life?

The Christ follower would do well not to look to the United Nation or even their own government for their deliverance, for our deliverance is not of this earth, it cometh from above.. look up, our redemption draweth nigh!

As a society suppresses light, it will one day find itself immersed in darkness… and out of the thickness of this darkness shall come His mighty judgement!

‘some things never change’

Marc Chagall, Les Fiancees de la Tour Eiffel

The above painting is from renowned painter Marc Chagall. Les Fiancees de la Tour Eiffel- ‘The Bride of the Eiffel Tower’ was painted around 1900. I wonder in today’s confusion concerning marriage what Chagall’s ‘bride’ would look like?

One of the nation’s most prominent dictionary companies has resolved the argument over whether the term “marriage” should apply to same-sex duos or be reserved for the institution that has held families together for millennia: by simply writing a new definition.

The dictionary’s new definition of marriage

The new definition references “marriage” as the state of being united to a person of the opposite sex as husband or wife. But the definition also includes “the state of being united to a person of the same sex in a relationship like that of a traditional marriage.”

Since the beginning of time, there has always been one that does any and everything to thwart the Truth of Gods word. Suppression of Light and the propagation of darkness if you please. That same spirit is alive and well today.

We are living in a day when nothing escapes the scrutiny of ‘political correctness’. For those who long for a foundation of truth, it is good to know that there is one thing that will never change.

The Word of God is the same yesterday, today and forever.

And the LORD God caused a deep sleep to fall upon Adam, and he slept: and he took one of his ribs, and closed up the flesh instead thereof; And the rib, which the LORD God had taken from man, made he a woman, and brought her unto the man. And Adam said, This is now bone of my bones, and flesh of my flesh: she shall be called Woman, because she was taken out of Man. Therefore shall a man leave his father and his mother, and shall cleave unto his wife: and they shall be one flesh. And they were both naked, the man and his wife, and were not ashamed. Genesis 2:21-25

If the Lord tarries man shall most assuredly rewrite the Word of God to make it more palatable to his/her view of their own god….

And the LORD God caused a deep sleep to fall upon Adam, and he slept: and he took one of his ribs, and closed up the flesh instead thereof; And the rib, which the LORD God had taken from man, made he a woman and a man, and brought both him and her unto the man and said now choose which one caters to the desires of your flesh. And Adam said, This is now bone of my bones, and flesh of my flesh: they shall be called my spouse, because it is written in Webster’s Dictionary. Therefore shall a man leave his father and his mother, and shall cleave unto his lover: and they shall be one flesh. And they were both naked, the man and his lover, and were not ashamed, until the Lord returns. Genesis 2:21-25 modified by the religious baser sort.

Rest assured my friend, the Word of God will not change. I pray that pulpits will not change it for the tickling of itching ears.

‘how much will that sin cost me?’

An indulgence, in Roman Catholic theology, is the full or partial remission of temporal punishment due for sins which have already been forgiven. The indulgence is granted by the church after the sinner has confessed and received absolution. The belief is that indulgences draw on the storehouse of merit acquired by Jesus’ sacrifice and the virtues and penances of the saints. They are granted for specific good works and prayers. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Indulgence

In recent months, dioceses around the world have been offering Catholics a spiritual benefit that fell out of favor decades ago — the indulgence, a sort of amnesty from punishment in the afterlife — and reminding them of the church’s clout in mitigating the wages of sin.[1]

Catholic churches have recently revived indulgences, a spiritual tradition that faded away in the 1960’s after the Second Vatican Council. The indulgence, as Paul Vitello of The New York Times explained in a recent article, is “a sort of amnesty from punishment in the afterlife.” Some liberal Catholics see the return of indulgences as a setback to modernization of the church. But church leaders say they deepen the spiritual experience of seeking penance. [2]

Religion thrives on the elements and works of the flesh to convince one that they can find favor with God. It’s like the individual who says “have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works?”

Beware lest any man spoil you through philosophy and vain deceit, after the tradition of men, after the rudiments of the world, and not after Christ. Trust me, God is not impressed with religion or the rites that it often propagates. Look to Jesus Christ my friend, the captian of our salvation.

Forasmuch as ye know that ye were not redeemed with corruptible things, as silver and gold, from your vain conversation received by tradition from your fathers; But with the precious blood of Christ, as of a lamb without blemish and without spot: Who verily was foreordained before the foundation of the world, but was manifest in these last times for you, Who by him do believe in God, that raised him up from the dead, and gave him glory; that your faith and hope might be in God. Seeing ye have purified your souls in obeying the truth through the Spirit unto unfeigned love of the brethren, see that ye love one another with a pure heart fervently: Being born again, not of corruptible seed, but of incorruptible, by the word of God, which liveth and abideth for ever. For all flesh is as grass, and all the glory of man as the flower of grass. The grass withereth, and the flower thereof falleth away: But the word of the Lord endureth for ever. And this is the word which by the gospel is preached unto you. 1 Peter 1:18-25

My friend let me encourage you to turn to Christ and rest in His precious blood to redeem the penalty for your sin…. leave your wallet in your pocket. “What shall a man give in exchange for his soul?”

This sounds a little like the priest in the days of Hosea….

When the people bring their sin offerings the priest get fed. So the priest are glad when the people sin. Hosea 4:8

‘three trees’

  Three Trees: Photograph Lachlan McDonald

While reading the daily newsletter from vom’s- extreme devotion  [mar.03.2009] there was this story about ‘three trees’. Voice of the Martyr pointed out that the underground churches across eastern Europe, used the parable of the ‘three trees’ as a resource for encouragement to those suffering for their faith. These believers needed to see purpose in what they endured. I had heard a song with a very similar message but wanted to post the parable for my readers throughout all of the world that wake up everyday to a spirit of persecution. It is my prayer that this post will be a source of encouragement to my brothers and sisters that are suffering for the cause of Christ.

Beloved, think it not strange concerning the fiery trial which is to try you, as though some strange thing happened unto you: But rejoice, inasmuch as ye are partakers of Christ’s sufferings; that, when his glory shall be revealed, ye may be glad also with exceeding joy. If ye be reproached for the name of Christ, happy are ye; for the spirit of glory and of God resteth upon you: on their part he is evil spoken of, but on your part he is glorified. 1 Peter 4:12-14

They must have had such high hopes and aspirations when they originally said they wanted to be used by God for his glory. Yet, oppression seemed to have cut them off from God’s plans. How could unjust suffering play into such a plan? Like the tree that formed the cross, they realized they were also being shaped into God’s ultimate purpose for their lives. From this perspective, suffering is not seen as an interruption of God’s plans for your life, but an integral part of the process. VOM

In a forest one day, three young trees all agreed to pray that they would be used for some noble purpose rather than decay from old age.

The first tree wanted to become a manger where tired cattle could feed after a long day’s work. God rewarded the tree for having such modesty. It became a very special manger—the one in which the Son of God was laid.

The second tree prayed that it might become a boat. The prayer was answered, and soon its fine wood sheltered a very special passenger—the Son of God. It heard Jesus calm a fierce storm by saying, “Peace, be still.” The tree counted its life as worthwhile in order to witness such a scene.

The third tree, however, was made into a large cross to serve as an instrument of suffering. The tree was initially deeply disappointed in its fate. However, one day Jesus of Nazareth was nailed to its limbs. Strange, but the cross did not hear groaning and cursing as on other crosses. Instead it heard the Son of God offer words of love and divine forgiveness—words that opened paradise to a repentant thief.

The tree then understood that its part in the crucifixion of Jesus provided for the salvation of humankind.

Blessed is the man that walketh not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor standeth in the way of sinners, nor sitteth in the seat of the scornful. But his delight is in the law of the LORD; and in his law doth he meditate day and night. And he shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, that bringeth forth his fruit in his season; his leaf also shall not wither; and whatsoever he doeth shall prosper. The ungodly are not so: but are like the chaff which the wind driveth away. Therefore the ungodly shall not stand in the judgment, nor sinners in the congregation of the righteous. For the LORD knoweth the way of the righteous: but the way of the ungodly shall perish. Psalm 1:1-6

May we be trees planted by the river of living water of Gods word and may He shine the glorious light of His Spirit upon us that we will stand upon that same word with a firm commitment… even unto death.
