‘bp oil spill reveals the heart of hypocrisy’

 deepwater

The BP Oil spill is now front and center of the entire world. Government officials estimate between 24 million to 47 million gallons of crude oil have leaked into the Gulf since the April 20 explosion that killed 11 workers, making it the nation’s largest oil spill ever. Latest projections have the oil being pulled into the loop current that runs from the Gulf of Mexico, around the southern most tip of Florida and north into the Atlantic Ocean, with a high probability of affecting the coast of Europe.

The pictures below are reminiscent of what is playing out along the northern Gulf Coast, nearly seven weeks after a BP rig exploded and the wellhead a mile below the surface began releasing millions of gallon of oil into the Gulf of Mexico. With each news report we feel a spirit of bitterness that is rising to unprecedented levels, even from those that do not live in the immediate affected area.

oilspillprotest The reality of seeing oil washed up on the white pristine beaches of the Northern Gulf Coast, not to mention the toll that the oil is taking on innocent wildlife is literally gut wrenching and heart breaking.

There is not only the smell liken to diesel fuel along the beaches, but the stench of death is beginning to permeate the salty gulf air.

PUBLIC OUTCRY

BP Oil Flood Protest in Jackson Square, New Orleans LA May 30, 2010

Imagine a society that had the same concern for an innocent baby in it’s mothers womb as it does for the birds, turtles and fish in the sea. Or a vehement disdain for the doctor that profits from ripping the unborn child from the safety of its mother’s womb as the BP executive that is making billions in profits.

Where is the public outcry? Eleven workers die on the Deepwater Horizon and hundreds and thousands of creatures living in the sea, pale in comparison to the 48,589,993 killed at the hand of the abortionist since 1973. Why is our society not as angry with the medical profession, judges, senators, congressmen/women and even the president of this United States as they are with the executives of British Petroleum?

How can a nation’s heart not break for these tiny babies yet pictures of these innocent birds covered in oil will bring tears to our eyes? Does this make sense to you? This catastrophe has eternal consequences.

There can be but one answer and it proves the word of God is true…

Woe unto them that call evil good, and good evil; that put darkness for light, and light for darkness; that put bitter for sweet and sweet for bitter. Woe unto them that are wise in their own eyes and prudent in their own sight! Isaiah 5:20-21

There is but one answer… REPENT! May God have mercy on us.

Before I formed thee in the womb I knew thee, and before you were born, I sanctified thee and ordained thee to be my prophet.        Jeremiah 1:5

"Then they came for the trade unionists and I did not speak out because I was not a trade unionist. Then they came for the Jews and I did not speak out because I was not a Jew. Then they came for me and there was no one left to speak for me." Martin Niemoller

Who will speak for those who can't speak for themselves?

“Rescue those being led away to death; hold back those staggering toward slaughter. If you say, ‘But we knew nothing about this’, does not He who weighs the heart perceive it? Does not He who guards your life know it? Will not He repay each one according to what he has done?” Proverbs 24:11-12
