‘bp oil spill reveals the heart of hypocrisy’

The BP Oil spill is now front and center of the entire world. Government officials estimate between 24 million to 47 million gallons of crude oil have leaked into the Gulf since the April 20 explosion that killed 11 workers, making it the nation’s largest oil spill ever. Latest projections have the oil being pulled into the loop current that runs from the Gulf of Mexico, around the southern most tip of Florida and north into the Atlantic Ocean, with a high probability of affecting the coast of Europe.

The pictures below are reminiscent of what is playing out along the northern Gulf Coast, nearly seven weeks after a BP rig exploded and the wellhead a mile below the surface began releasing millions of gallon of oil into the Gulf of Mexico. With each news report we feel a spirit of bitterness that is rising to unprecedented levels, even from those that do not live in the immediate affected area.

oilspillprotest The reality of seeing oil washed up on the white pristine beaches of the Northern Gulf Coast, not to mention the toll that the oil is taking on innocent wildlife is literally gut wrenching and heart breaking.

There is not only the smell liken to diesel fuel along the beaches, but the stench of death is beginning to permeate the salty gulf air.

Imagine a society that had the same concern for an innocent baby in it’s mothers womb as it does for the birds, turtles and fish in the sea. Or a vehement disdain for the doctor that profits from ripping the unborn child from the safety of its mother’s womb as the BP executive that is making billions in profits.

Where is the public outcry? Eleven workers die on the Deepwater Horizon and hundreds and thousands of creatures living in the sea, pale in comparison to the 48,589,993 killed at the hand of the abortionist since 1973. Why is our society not as angry with the medical profession, judges, senators, congressmen/women and even the president of this United States as they are with the executives of British Petroleum?

How can a nation’s heart not break for these tiny babies yet pictures of these innocent birds covered in oil will bring tears to our eyes? Does this make sense to you? This catastrophe has eternal consequences.

There can be but one answer and it proves the word of God is true…

Woe unto them that call evil good, and good evil; that put darkness for light, and light for darkness; that put bitter for sweet and sweet for bitter. Woe unto them that are wise in their own eyes and prudent in their own sight! Isaiah 5:20-21

There is but one answer… REPENT! May God have mercy on us.

Before I formed thee in the womb I knew thee, and before you were born, I sanctified thee and ordained thee to be my prophet.        Jeremiah 1:5

  1. Brother Malachi, with tears I write and ask, will those blinded by darkness understand the sad truth that you just wrote? People still clamor for their “right” to do what they want with their body. Not even God is going to tell them that they must carry the child that is growing within their womb! What is “right’ for the unborn child is never considered. Hearts are cold and life has no real value in today’s society. How many hearts are burdened by starving and suffering children in third world countries or even in this country? Sadly, most consider that it is not their problem. And if I didn’t know better, it would seem as if the enemy has won. But he hasn’t and I wait for the glorious appearing of our great God and Savior, Jesus Christ. Only then will the darkness be lifted.

    • Greetings Marianne, it is a sad day we are living in. A day in which the mere creatures of the earth (fish, turtles, birds, etc…) are given greater concern than the innocent child in it’s mothers womb that is created in the very image of God. In this we see the ultimately rebellion of a society against God…

It gives one a little perspective of how effective the enemy of God and His cross has been to deceive, lie and kill. He has convinced a many a educated folk that as you so clearly stated, are wallowing in darkness. As in the days of Isaiah, we are doing such a wicked deed and calling it light instead of darkness, sweet instead of bitter. We shall find ourselves left to nothing more than the judgement of God, if we find no place of repentance.

Churches all along the gulf coast are praying, asking God to intervene in this terrible disaster and make everything right…. I would think He has orchestrated these events as the beginning of such a great judgement. I would to God there was such a cry for repentance against the sin of killing these babies

Have you every considered that in the Revelation (chpt.8) that the sea is smitten of God. We are told (verse 8-9) that as the second angel sounded, there was a great mountain burning with fire that was cast into the sea: and the third part of the sea became blood. And the third part of the creatures which were in the sea and had life died…. one would wonder… how is it possible that such an event could wreak such havoc. Can you imagine if this source of oil continues to boil at approximately 2 million gallons a day and it can not be shut off by man’s futile attempts until the oil is expired, which could be up to 4 years, what would life in the sea look like?

The Word of God is a lamp unto our feet and light unto our path, but the very same Word, is a word of judgment and shall judge a people in the last days that have shaken their fist in His face. The killing of innocent babies is the grossest of such rebellion… like to the passing of the children through the fire…. Moelech is alive and well!

May God have mercy on us for such a grievous sin…. but He won’t, nor do we deserve it. Thanks for sharing in the post and please continue to pray that we might repent of such.

Peace in Yeshua and your brother in Christ

"Then they came for the trade unionists and I did not speak out because I was not a trade unionist. Then they came for the Jews and I did not speak out because I was not a Jew. Then they came for me and there was no one left to speak for me." Martin Niemoller

“Rescue those being led away to death; hold back those staggering toward slaughter. If you say, ‘But we knew nothing about this’, does not He who weighs the heart perceive it? Does not He who guards your life know it? Will not He repay each one according to what he has done?” Proverbs 24:11-12
